Do you start discussions based on a certain moment of a day - as to increase the chance to have more answers/comments - or you just count on fact that the title / subject alone is intersting enough to attract attention of many people ?

I think time to post is important too. But we never know whether there are many members online. Actually, I never thought to posted discussion at certain time. I would posted my discussion whenever I got the idea. I don't care whether there are many members online or not.
For me, the important think is our topic. If you posted popular topic that everyone could answer or respond to your discussion then you will get many responses. However, if you posted good quality discussion but it's hard to respond, you will not get many responses. I have noticed that. For instance, I have started discussion: "How do you use mylot" and get 21 responses. While my discussion: "Tips for choosing best response" only get 6 responses. What do you think about it? It is easily to respond my first discussion rather than second discussion.
I get response rely on my friends. I always try to respond to discussions my friends started. I turn on notify of my friend in order to get notification from mylot if they start discussions. I hope they will do the same thing to me. It's very pleasant make discussions with our friends.

i do not feel that the moments of the day attract and to be considered for discussions since, the facts you are facing in each and every moment in your life time are always varying and practically they are not going to come through out your life for better consideration . in my view the thoughts or matters which u are in a little bit confusing in understanding clearly or the ideas or matters which u want to acquire as a new one are primarily to be considered for discussions and put in forum post . i hope my view is little bit clarifying the real picture

i only start a discussion when something new popped in to my mind or when there is some incident or happening in my life. i start discussion at once when i am on and never thought of taking advantage of the time when more people are awake. even if we start at our own time, they will still catch up with the discussion even when we are at rest.

I have only started a few discussions and these are for questions i have wanted answering. I think if you generally need to ask something it can become a good discussion wioth plenty of responces.
