Backbiting!

I am an open and a frank guy mostly. I like to hangout and spend quality time with my friends. Once while i was out with a few guys one of them asked me to get them some coke. I immediately went to the nearest shop and got coke for all of us. Though it was late i managed to get some and then went back to the room. There when i went i was hearing some loud laughing noises. I went to investigate and saw that my friends were cracking jokes about me and no one seemed to see me. One of them actually commented on my sister and ..it was horrible. I didn't know that till that they whispered behind my back. I was so shocked! I didn't know what to do. I barged into the room and bashed the guy who was commenting on me and my sis. I managed to get injured as well but only a little. From the next day onwards i couldn't trust any friends because i didn't want to go through that again. I always make careful choices when someone comes and speaks to me. Till today i remember this incident and still didn't understand how many friends could talk like that about me. I decided to move on... Have you experienced something like mine? What did you do in such situation? How did you react? Did any close friends of yours backbite on you?
