Just wondering if it's a bad thing to put my non stick skillets in the dishwasher. I couldn't figure out why it would be. I put it on the stove, put oil in it and heat it up and I don't think the dishwasher's element will get it much warmer than that. I also don't use the drying part of the dishwasher, just the washing part. Do you put your teflon in the dishwasher?

Hi Mac...... I don't the answer for that question because I never use dishwasher before. All the plate, pan and etc are washed by hand. Honestly I never seen dishwasher, so I don't know how its work. Teflon layer usually so easy to tears when you wash it with hard thing like metal scrubber. I usually wash it with soft sponge and its not become problem because they were so easy to clean.

I have only been using the dishwasher because my hands are breaking out from washing so much!

Don't. There is a certain temperature that it has to go up on the stove (5 on mine or medium high.) Also the finish may come off of it. Most dishwasher companies recommend that you do not put the Teflon in a dishwasher. They also recommend that you do not wash wooden utensils or salad bowls or cutting boards in the dishwasher, and if you have silver, you keep it separate from everything else. And if you have gold or silver lined plates, etc. you just wash it with clear water no soap. But do people listen no? I came home one day from going out since my friends offered to clean the house and give me a break. They put the wooden things in the dishwasher and most of them were brand new. And on top of that, I could not find my measuring cups or one of my lids, because they put them way in the back.
