With so many Americans out of work right now and more being laid off due to the the census jobs ending and the gulf oil spill our lawmakers have voted down the unemployment extension again and will likely be out till the 12th of July. Some people say if the senate republicans are for fiscal responsibility and do want extensions why haven't they brought forward their own bill. Others say if the democrats are so strongly for it how come Obama hasn't just signed an executive order to make it happen. Most of the general population of the united states does seem to agree on one thing our politicians are completely out of touch with the plight of the American people and their suffering from lack of full time meaningful employment. Chances are you know someone who is out of work or underemployed. How do you feel about the situation?

If they would just put up a bill that ONLY extends unemployment...it would probably pass. The Democrats aren't interested in extending unemployment, they are only interested in keeping themselves employed. Think about it. If the bill passes, they can say "Look! We got you your unemployment extensions!"...If it doesn't pass, they can say "Look! Those evil republicans denied you your unemployment extensions!" Either way, they come out of this looking good to anyone who doesn't really look any deeper in to the issue.
