Which do you think is a better innovation or upgrade?

A desktop pc to laptop or a landline phone to mobile phone? Both of them can really be considered as a great innovation in technology. In the past, both computer and telephone are not really portable. It was made to stay in one place. It can be transferred to another place but it will take time and effort to do it. It's not that easy in simple words. But from the time that portability became a thread in technology, mobile phone and laptop begun to emerge. For you, which do you think is the better upgrade, a telephone that you can carry anywhere (mobile phone), or a computer that you carry anywhere as well (laptop)? For me, of course both are really great innovations but I will slightly go for a landline phone turned into a mobile phone. As of now, the use of mobile phone is more practical and it's more valuable to carry. I can live and I can still be comfortable without a portable computer, since I am still contented that my computer stays in one place. Yes, laptop has more uses, but I can just utilize it at home or wherever my computer is. The easier and faster communication brought by mobile phones is really very useful and really a bright idea. How about you, which do you think is the better upgrade or innovation, laptop or mobile phone? I would be glad to know your answer. Have a great day! :)

both are exemplary, but my vote goes to mobile phone because it is indeed more useful and practical. besides, with mobile phones, there is already internet, which is definitely really very important these days.

i agree with you. and there are already phones available now that you can make your word and spreadsheet documents. you only need to send it to a computer if you want to make some adjustments to the files.

before i got my own laptop, i was already contented with my mobile phone. can you imagine a phone that you can use to talk with people, send short messages, and at the same time, browse the internet, chat with friends with yahoo messenger or skype? aside from those things, i can also write test documents (word processing) and even spreadsheets. though it has some limitations, you can do all these even without the laptop or computers. though both works together most of the time, i still believe phones have better upgrade from being a home phone to mobile phone to mobile internet.

hi harold I still use a landline and for me its practical as I have a senior discount and I really do not want a mobile phone. Also I love my desktop computer and a laptop seems to me to be an expensive deal as they have to be repaired five times more oftenthan a desktop. since I am not going around a lot I can use my computer here in ,my room just fine.It has not cost me anything except the cable cost monthly for the internet. My son keeps it in excellent shape and if the lights go out I know how to reset the modem and the routher too. I might in the future get a mobile phone but right now I must watch my budget.

Hi Harold~ Well, I have a PC, landline, laptop and cell phone. My laptop isn't set up yet since my "computer guy" who gave it to me still hasn't finished hooking up the router so I still can't use it! I only use my cell phone for making calls or getting them when I am out so I don't have a fancy cell phone that does computer applications. But, as many do have those more expensive phones that also do computer applications I think that is the best invention because it combines the "laptop" and cell phone! That is if you can afford one of them!lol

Both laptops and mobile phones are great products of technological innovation and many have benefited from the convenience both offer. However, for those people who are no longer actively on the go at all times, the stationary desktop pc and landline would do just as good and less costly to maintain.

In my opinion, both are great. They make our lives more convenient. For me a mobile telephone is more valuable.Wherever I am, I could get in touch with my colleagues or my friends. As to cmputer,I am a regular worker. There is no difference between the desktop pc and the laptop.

I'm an innovative person by nature.. the way I see "upgrade", its a simple improvement of certain base prototype into a more advance version.. with "Innovation", where something which may be old but used into a new way, exploiting matter to achieve beyond capability...I feel that innovation is more customized to need, where upgrade is a mere innovation of a customizer on a gadget.. this may not jive to your personal need thus less personalized and customized in the same way..
