I haven't had lima beans in years. I put some in the crock pot this morning. I threw in a little onion, basil, parsley and salt. I also chopped up a carrot and few a small bit of fresh cabbage in. Do you think it will be good? Or did I waste my time trying something new?

Hi mac, Most of the time, when I make up a new dish I love the results, at least the first time. They have the fun of the new. After I taste it, I begin to think I should have put this instead of that. But that´s one of the fun parts of cooking. I don´t personally like to cook cabagge with other foods and prefer to add it cooked later. But that´s my own taste. And I always fry onions, garlic and spices for every legume I make. Luck and tell us how it came out.

Are u talking about dried beans? I really don't care for dried limas but love fresh or frozen one. All i ever put in mind is butter, salt, pepper & a little sugar. I hope they turned out well.

Yes, they were dried when I bought them but after they cooked awhile they were great! There can be a major difference in foods that are fresh!
