The King vs. the Queen: Who will win?

United States
July 8, 2010 7:15pm CST
On Tuesday the king of early afternoon radio decided to go to war with the queen of afternoon TV, in what could be the great battle of all time. Why the king decided to go after the queen is beyond everyone seeing how losing to a women would be the ultimate disgrace for a man that commonly calls women "babe". But, million have questioned what Rush Limbaugh does, and says for decades, but going after Oprah is career suicide. Rush claims that the only reason that Oprah is rich is because he is black, and we feel guilty. So what do you think of Rush's comments, and what do you think of his racist comments, and going after the queen of TV? http://www.newser.com/story/94972/limbaugh-takes-racial-swipe-at-obama-oprah.html

I really feel that his comment is in bad taste and hate racists. Infact now this comment would really be talked about and yes the King always loses to the queen. It will be the same here also.

I dont think anyone will win. Like sierras said, they are two totally different markets. It wont hurt or help Limbaugh and it wont hurt or help Oprah. Limbaugh says things like this for the reaction. Which is exactly what you are doing. So really, you are furthering Limbaughs cause. lmao

Laglen, actually I am trying to get people to see what he is doing, and trying to get people to see how UNACCEPTABLE this comments are. He if fueling the right wing hate radio agenda, of promoting fear, and hatred in this country. I can't believe people defend this many when he says that certain people are ONLY successful because of their race. If Rush would have said that all of these Jews bankers were only successful because they are Jewish you would have heard a tremendous out try from the Jewish community, and he would have been denounced by them. But, Americans are use to these racist and sexist comments towards black people, and women. Our country has had a racist, and sexist past, and that is exactly where that kind of fear and hate mongering should be left: IN THE PAST. We have no room in this country for hate mongers like Rush, and if he continues to claim to be an entertainer, than we should treat him like Mel Gibson.

Debater - my dear - with all due respect, we live in a super duper wonderful nation. we have this fantastic freedom. It is called Freedom of Speech. While it is not in our Constitution, we also have the freedom to be stupid. While Rush has the freedom to say anything he wants, you also have every right to not listen to him. I find Keith Olberman to be a disgusting human being and so I choose not to listen to him. I find Chris Matthews to be reprehensible. I choose not to listen to him (evidentally so do the majority of Americans). I do not like what these guys say. But I firmly believe they have every right to say it. So if so many people listen to Rush, why rush to denounce him? Why not listen to what he is saying and not the little blurbs you get in the left leaning media. Dont get me wrong, I agree Rush has a big mouth and is not the most compassionate individual, but he does have a place in this country.

Laglen, I do agree that he has the right to say what he wants to say under the constitution. But, he also has to be held accountable for his action like EVERY American. And it is not illegal to be a stupid or a racist. However, people that don't listen to him, and those that do should do the right thing and call him on this. If you have no problem listening to a racist than that is fine, but don't be upset when we call him what he is. This isn't the first time he has made comments about a black person being in their position in life because of their color. We all remember the Donovan McNabb comments that go him booted for ESPN in a matter of minutes. I am surprised that he has never made comments about Clearance Thomas, but then again he agrees with Thomas's politics, so that makes it all good. Just to set the record straight the majority of Americans DON'T listen to Rush either. The reason I denounce Rush is because he comments should be taken for what they are: RACIST!!!!! This isn't even debatable really, look at what he says, and listen to the words coming out of this mouth. These aren't sound bites, they are how he feels, he wasn't taken out of context, they were exactly what he meant, and there are other statements that he has made similar to this. Laglen, with all do respect, PLEASE SHOW ME WHAT PLACE A RACIST HAS IN THIS COUNTRY?????

Lil, if you listen to right wing hate radio, or right wing hate TV (FOX News), you will hear them accusing the Obama administration of reverse racism. Now you have Rush claiming race is the only reason that both Barack Obama, and Oprah are in the places they are in life. Either way he is wrong.

Lil, I agree that he is nothing but an entertainer, but look at what happened to Mel Gibson when he makes racist comments. Why shouldn't be treat him like any other entertainer who makes racist, and sexist comments? The problem is that he makes these types of comments all day long, and he is just fueling the racist sexist hate speech that we hear from those FAR right wing idiots. If he was makings comments like this about Jewish people you wouldn't hear the same lack of outrage by normal Americans. I guess it has just been more accepted in this country to make racist, and sexist comments about blacks and women, then Jews!!!!!!!!

I don't listen to Rush. Sometimes I listen to some of the other talk radio...but I can't stand Rush. He rides my last nerve. It just stupid to put race into this whole thing. We are all human beings. Let it at that. Rush is just looking for ratings. He is the political worlds verson of Howard Stern. And should be take just about as seriously if not less.
