Need input on marketing crochet dish cloth

I have been busy the last two weeks crocheting cotton dish cloth. I know they are easy to make and not very exciting. I started crocheting dish cloth because I did not have any sponge to wash my dishes, and I did not want to drive to the dollar store. I use, I think it is called the rib stitch, and I find the crochet dishcloth did a better job than the sponge. I am thinking I should sell some for Christmas. I am thinking, I should market them as environmentally friendly, and reusable. They can be hand wash and dry so they remove bacteria. While the sponge retains bacteria, because, it is not really washable like the dish cloth. Have you ever sold dish cloth? How much did you sell them for? What do you think of my idea?

I think this is a great idea & your items would sell well...I have sold a few of my knitted & cricheted creations & have never had any negative feed back once the item has been recieved. I would suggest you sell your items on craft sites like etsy as people buying on that site are looking for hand made goods... To market them, I would simply describe them as you have here to us & also add the measurements...a picture too would be nice. Could you please let me know your basic pattern & if you used crochet cotton or what ply wool & what size hook?

I don't use a pattern. I am kind of old school so I create my own design. I use cotton on the ones I made. They were on sale so I stock up. I use a I hook. I tried Etsy before, but did not keep it up. I might try them again.

They are done in rows. I use single stitch on some, and I have some with double. I don't like the tr stitch, but I am sure anyone is fine. I tend to prefer double stitch.

Thanks for the BR I hope you are able to sell your dish cloths... So if I use crochet cotton, I know I can do this...do you just make them in squares like you would for a blanket (start with a circle & turn it into a square) or do you just do rows? Also, do you think dc or tr would be better? Sorry for all the questions but I want to try & make some for myself.

It sounds like a good idea but I would be concerned that it would fall apart after many washings. I would worry about the crochet not holding up in the washing machine. Maybe with a different fabric?

Crochet items can withstand washing in a washing machine. I have wash my hats in the washing machine on the gently cycle with no problems. I will suggest they hand wash because that is easier, and that is what I do with my dish cloth.

I was thinking $2.00 or $3.00. From my experience, crochet items are not easy to sell. I definitely plan to try selling them.

That's a nice idea. I do crocheting for fun but I also sell some of my projects like cellphone holders, purses and earrings. It would really depend on you if you can market them at a reasonable price.
