Finally saw a doctor about my hot flashes!

Yes I did! I had some blood work done and I will find out if I am menopausal. If I am my doctor will try some meds in low dose. Fine with me! I am sick of getting hot flashes on top of the heat we get off and on! I was hoping she would not complain about my weight. She did but at least she didn't make cry like my regular doctor did!

Your doctor made yo cry? That would be my last visit. I hope the hot flashes can be stopped. Take Care.

I wouldn't be seeing my regular doctor anymore! After that last first I will not be going back! Tomorrow I will be seeing my gyn and find out if I really am in menopause. The hot flashes are driving me crazy! All through the day!

I've been having them for a while now and, personally, I'd rather suffer through it than put some medication into my system. I'm trying to deal with it naturally because I truly believe that's how our bodies are designed. Yeah....it's uncomfortable. Unbearable at times but it does pass. I've been drinking a lot of herbal teas that have helped here and there. What's worse for me are the night sweats! Waking up in a soaking wet shirt every morning is awful! Of course, here in Argentina it's winter so the hot flashes don't bother so much. The only suggestion I would make is to thoroughly research whatever medication your doctor decides to give you before you actually take it. There are so many side effects that can turn out to be worse than the flashes themselves. Seriously....do your research and know what you're getting yourself into. Good luck with it! You'll survive. We all do! lol.

It is summer here and alot of the summer has been humid! So I have been sweating and getting hot flashes on top of that! I have been so darn uncomfortable at work,I work in a kitchen,that I couldn't take it anymore! I am taking some estorgen pills now. They are made from plants not horse urine which some pills are! I know what happens to some of the foals of these mares and the mares themselves when they aren't needed! Slaughtered in slaughter houses like in Mexico and Canada! I would never do that! I am against,totally, against slaughtering horses for meat! My other biggest concern is the price of the pills. As long as they come in gentic form,they don't cost me anything under my health insurance! Right now I am on samples from my doctor,then I will get meds subsribed by my doctor.

I am seeing my gyn again tomorrow so I will see what she wants to try. It could be either a high dosage of zoloft which I take for depression or some meds made out of mare urine!

Yes the doctor told me what she might try. I am on Zoloft and she might try me on a higher dose. If not she said probaly on something else. Can not remember the name but I am pretty sure it is made out of mare urine! Yikes!

I am sorry you are one lady that has bad hot flashes. I did. I was trying to have a family doctor, so i tried my husbands. What a pain. He did a pap and then put me on hormones, after refusing to talk to him without my husband. He turned to my husband and said "now she will feel better and want to be with you". That was never a problem for me, it was my husband.
I changed to a lady doctor, went on a mild antidepressant for several years and weened off of them. Now i feel much better, to bad my husband doesn't. HA

My gyn is a woman and woman doctor's seem to be more understanding then men! I see my gyn tomorrow and will see if I am going through menopause. I sure I am! Lately my hot flashes are getting more frequent doing the day and are worser then before! So we will see how it goes on Friday!
