Now it is not that I want to be a physical tortoise but I would to be the tortoise that won the race in the end.
On the second audio file, Robert mention that some fairy tales to come true, in life you would always meet someone quicker, stronger, better and richer then you. however if you build your foundation and keep working at it you could be the tortoise and win the race of life.
So are you ready to be a tortoise.

I thought you wanted to wealthy .............
The race with life is not about a turtle. IN retrospect I do understand your meaning.
You are in a race for life alright.
I am still in the race but going much slower as time seems to go by much quicker.
Being a tortoise doesn't stop the clock.
Hang in there tho. You have the right idea.

Well have mention to the others so I give a summary, I would to be wealthy. I do not want to be the hare to chase after the money but on the assets. The asset would bring me the money without me having to work for it. The hare run around aimlessly and forget the finish line. While the tortoise have the finish line lock on and then I would finish the line wealthy.
Cheers.

Do you really want one? They are not easy to take care of. They can also outlive human beings.

I was thinking at first that you might have wanted to pull your head into your shell! But this is better. Well, I'm afraid that I've always identified with the hare, even knowing that in the fairy tales that was not the correct answer. Oh, well. Maybe the tortoise will share with me when s/he sees what a cute bunny I am.

Hi iwrite,
Unless the rabbit falls asleep there is no point in becoming a tortoise. lol
On the hind side this could prove correct. The tale has an allegorical application that if you stick to something that you consider worth sticking and do not lose your patience you could emerge victorious at the end of the show. and that is ever sweeter.
The crying thing is that we have no patience to wait for a long time as we see others playing the part of a rabbit.
All good luck for your tortoise metamorphosis.

The point is that the rabbit might be running faster, but without a plan (direction to the finish line) he might be running in circle and not reaching the destination at all. I rather come up with a plan, move a little slower but at the end have the end state in mind, and then work slowly towards it. And finish ahead.
A lot of hares, run very fast and achieve a lot too quickly they forget their end state or they think they quickly catch up and thought they can leave till tomorrow, and there is alway tomorrow. so at the end would be the tortoise is already there.

Well that it the purpose 13tyates, to inspire you to greater things. Well you really have to listen to the audio file to understand this. but in short it is about creating a passive income for yourself.
If you are willing to plan for your future, create some passive income, then you would be making it getting it rich.

Much as i wanna be a tortoise, but i cant seem to do it!! haha =D I like things done slowly, to have a strong foundation, but too bad, i'm not the patient type of person!!
I have fast learning ability, and thus i can only be learning thru mistakes i make in life.. I need mistakes to build up my foundation, rather than going real slow, before coming up tops.. haha =D
PLus, this is a competitive world, everything is so fast paced, and time wait for no-one.. haha =D Thus, being a tortoise can only a dream, and not reality.. hehe

Hi iwrite,
I believe in slow and steady, so of the "tortoise symdrome," if you will. You don't have to run to the supermarket every week to purchase that none winning lottery ticket, if you are investing wisely at a slower, but surer rate with positive strategies. One person may win the lottery, but many can be secure if they take the time over a long period of focus on building that foundation that Robert talks about on his tapes. The security will be worth the wait.
Good Luck

Well said, sometime when you rush and run, you might trip and fall and in the end you might be getting nothing at all.
If you get a windfall, you might be rich overnight but should you lose it all then you might not get it back again. However if you have earn the money and you lose it all. you would have the experience to get it back.

Its nice to have money but money isnt everything. I wouldnt mind being the tortoise who enjoys life while racing. To me, its not important who wins or loses. Im happy with what I have now as long as I can be with my family and we're all healthy.
Very inspirational, thanks for sharing.

It's easy to get a passion but difficult to sustain it. I think perseverance is the key to success, whatever we do. If the tortoise is impatient or lazy, he could never win the race.

Yes I am ready! haha. Nice analogy by the way. I suppose this is a good view on things in life. Never give in to temptations specially those which can only provide you temporary things. They are usually are more trouble than they are worth.

Are you? I think it may be alittle late for me. SLow and deliberate definitely has it over the alternative. If I had it to do over I would certainly have done things alittle differently and looked more toward the future and made allowances for the lean years. I guess we all need to learn what the options are early on.

celticeagle,
I am just repeat the story, I guess it is not cool and I think the admin my penalize me for repeating. anyway if you like to see, i have made a lot of reference between what the hare and what the tortiose did.
I guess the difference would be a plan. Nice to see you appear is most of my discussion.

I think I lead a pretty slow and steady life now. Not to say that I always have. I guess with maturity maybe we become the tortoise. I think I may still also have my moments of trying to act like the hare. But all in all no matter what I am I think I am doing okay in the race of life.

natnickeep,
I may be the tortoise but I would still like to finish the race and win in the end. The hare might be fast but he might be running in circle and therefore take a long time to finish or do not finish at all. So the moral of the story would be slow (but with a good plan) and easy wins the race.

Very inspiring... sometimes we easily get discourage when we see or meet someone stronger and much superior than us. But as you said if we will build our foundation and keep working at it, it's not impossible to be on top and win the race of life.
Thanks, such a good reminder for those thinking of giving up on their dreams.
