Stuff to a building.
We've been getting a lot of odds and ends for when we get our own place. We're so
happy about it and really excited. We've actually got a good feeling about it, I mean
getting our own place and all.
We're going to be saving online earnings and everyway we can for our own place... But in any case, the stuff is coming from his parents, and his GG. A lot of it from his GG, some from his G lol
That makes no sense to some I am sure.. But in any case, though I'd let everyone know a little update.
So how many boxes do you think we've packed so far?
How long did it take you to pack and move?

Oh yes totes come in handy for Christmas stuff as well. I like the bigger totes for that. We have two totes full of ornaments, and our reindeer, and then I think that's it, and trust me there are a lot of ornaments, enough to put on two trees.

My sister and her husband moved themselves and their two kids in two days time. I think technically my sister did all the packing and maybe a good chunk of the unpacking, this is of course from what I've heard. They moved from a three bedroom two bath single story, to a three bedroom two bath two story with a basement.
I don't think I could move in two days with all the stuff she had, though then again she probably had as much stuff then as we do now.
Totes are nice, you can keep them for later and most of the time fit more things in them. Get the deep long ones and you can fit lots of clothes maybe even a chest full, and then kitchen stuff could go in two totes I would think. Seems like a smart plan. I think we have maybe two totes, a lot of boxes, a tater box full of stuff, some luggage, a luggage bag full of stuff...

Hi!
We don't have the place yet, but the downpayment we would need to make isn't all that much. As long as we can get a place financed we will be good to go. That's one reason why I am on here, to make money for the downpayment, or if nothing else to atleast help with the bills. I am trying to find a job now, I had an interview at one place and hope they call me back soon.
Once I can get into a job, all earnings online will go to bills but also to savings.

I could try freelance sites but I've found they bore me. They would be a very quick means to earning money though. I type at about 75 wpm as I've always done, but I am sure you can keep up with me :D

I'm very sure you'd be able to find ways to achieve that. By the way, I'm not sure if you've tried freelance sites, but its a nice place to also find some jobs. I'll try to visit here more often to keep you company. But I'm guessing I won't be able to keep up with you...lol I wonder how fast you type now...haha

Hi Cowgirl
I am so glad that you are getting so much help it will safe you so much Money when you do get your own Place and eventually in years to come you can replace it bit by bit
It is hard when you first start out so that is one bit taken of your Mind having to get stuff for the House
I would say you have packed about 20 boxes?????
It took me 6 weeks to pack and move

wow 6 weeks? That is a long time. We've got a lot of boxes, not sure how many. It's actually going to save us on packing too, as we're packing now and so while some stuff will need to be packed into boxes when we do move out, other things won't be. Pretty much when we get our own place we'll just have to spend time on unpacking. The last time my sister moved I think it took her two days, one day to pack the stuff up and another day to unpack it. Maybe a few more days, I'm not sure, but she has a lot of stuff between the kids and her and her husband.
Yes I know it will definitely save on money as pretty much we have enough dishware and silverware and even cookware to cook a feast for the family! A lot of the stuff we have is heavy but of good quality, it's lasted through the years thus far and we'll take care to make sure it lasts for years to come as well. Who knows we may be passing it down to our children!
I also think the fact my husband and I both come from a family of pack rat hand me down people means we're not out of the woods yet and will be getting more things before we know it!
Well I better hush before I talk your ear off!

I never move, so I do not know how long it would take. Putting things away so you will have them is good. It would be even better if you did not have to pay for storage. I had enough property that when my son split up with his wife, and they lost the house, I had him have a shed built. So his monthly payment actually gets him a shed that is his own.

I think we're going to have more people helping us move boxes and stuff then we had moving them into storage. The storage bill isn't that much, the problem is we're going to be paying off one bill soon and well how do I explain this, I really am bad about explaining things... Okay so we have one bill that is going to be paid off, it's a little over one hundred dollars, the shed is one hundred and 30 dollars. There will be one or two months where we will be paying the bill that we just obtained (the storage building) and also paying the bill we're going to pay off... So we're not really getting rid of a bill as it's going to be replaced by another, a little more expensive bill.
So getting that place so we don't have to pay for the building would be good, but of course there's the water (I think every three months? not sure) electric, phone, internet, t.v.... things we have to consider will be added on.
Even so getting rid of that building and having our own place will definitely be worth it and technically we don't have to get t.v. right off the bat, though internet and phone would be nice to keep in touch with people and earn online.
We would have just bought a shed but some of the stuff needed to be in a climate controlled building.

My dream is moving to other place on my country I hope It would come true. Really I do not know how many boxes you had packed so far maybe twenty five? If I ever move I think I need many boxes about sixty, because I have many new things at my place. I hope you like your new place. Take care, Have a nice day!

You missed a key word in my discussion which was "bulding" we moved stuff to a storage building, we've not moved yet, we just received a lot of things from a family member/s for when we do get our own place. Let us work together here on mylot and maybe we will both get our dream place at the same time. Hope all is well with you, and as for the boxes, I couldn't tell you how many we ended up having.

hmm, well it took more then four hours. We got things from his GG too and so that day took from like 10 AM to 6 PM I think? I am not quite sure. In any case it took awhile. Then we packed a little a few days ago, then again today. We're done with all packing except maybe a few toss in's here and there.
We've still got to get a place but atleast we're pretty much packed. The rest of the stuff if we wanted to we could put in I'd say ten boxes? Most of it could be carried over though.

Er, 25 boxes?
Heck, it took me a whole month just to pack the books....
So when do you think you will be able to get your own place?

I am not sure how many boxes we have but today alone we had like 11 boxes to take to storage, and that is our last big load. Well we're looking at $5000 to $7000 in a downpayment so I'd say a year if not less. It all depends on when I can get a good paying job, I had an interview and it seemed like I could get the job, I just hope I do.

I know it seems like we are getting a lot of stuff, and and it seems like we got half of my GG's house in our storage building lol,and it is really exciting to see the storage building filling up with stuff for our trailer one day and it seems like we have almost filled up the 10 X 15 storage building if that gives the people how much stuff we have moved, but we still have some room for other things we might acquire, and I am sure my G and my parents will give us more things in the near and distant future, and I would say we have packed at least fifty boxes so it is a good thing I brought boxes home from work lol,and it has taken us several days to move and other than a few things we are done moving for a while,I love you with all of my heart and soul.

I didn't think about giving the dimensions of the building so as to give people an idea, then again we couldnt' say for sure how much room we have filled up until today since we had a load of stuff to put in. I am glad that we were able to get so much stuff from GG's as that will save us a lot of trouble in the future. Before we got all the stuff for the kitchen from GG's we had only a set of dishes, another set of cups, our coffee cups, silverware, salt and pepper shakers, and pots and pans. Now we have enough for the kitchen to feed an army.
We've got enough to furnish the livingroom of the place we get, we've also got enough to furnish a spare bedroom of the place we want to get. I think that is pretty awesome there in itself because we will have somewhere for people to sleep if they don't want to sleep on the couch. Though I know you and me both can think of a friend who would much rather sleep on the couch then in a bed.
It is a good thing you brought boxes home though amazingly from all the boxes you did bring home a good chunk will need to be thrown away. I can't believe how many boxes you brought home in a few days time.

He might sleep in a bed if there is one. We could buy an air mattress and put it in the closet of the spare bedroom as well as a pump for it so that we can blow the air mattress up if someone else stays over. Though with a couch also we might not even need an air mattress. Yeah we got a lot of stuff, and even just saying half of her kitchen doesn't tell how much we really got. People could think it's just a set of silverware blah blah but no I mean she had like five different sets of dishes, atleast three different sets of cups, four different sets of silverware... just a lot of stuff.

I know we did not have much for the kitchen before we got stuff from GG's and now we have like half her kitchen in our storage building, and we will have one spare bed and we could get an air mattress for the other bedroom if we need it,but yeah the one friend who we see the most rather sleep on the couch, even though he might would sleep in a bed if there was one,and I know a bunch of boxes have and are gonna be thrown away, but the way I saw it I am glad we had to many boxes instead of not enough and it is one of the perks of having such a great job,I love you with all of my heart and soul.

It took us about three weeks to prepare to move. One move before I moved all of the stuff into I knew we wouldn't be using into a storage unit, then when it was time to move there was more room to move the bigger items. I like to move alittle slowly in stages. It works very well for me.

That's kind of what we've been doing, moving things in stages to the building. We've got everything big moved in now and anything else is just going to be little odds and ends that we don't necessarily have to take but probably will. The biggest thing will be unpacking when we're done but I know my husband's mom will help us there. We'll probably have to take a day off to get a lot of it done, but well we'll just have to see once we do find a place we like and can afford.

I LOVE organizing things, so I guess to me it's like organizing it into a box.. and then when the unpacking process starts... well i reckon I'll be relieved when that's over too

awh I'm so happy for you...yeah having a place of your own is very much convenient than sharing with others! I'm sure you are getting so excited no matter how many stuff you need to pack up for
the tiring part is usually not felt when it comes to happy reasons
so, always be happy

You're right though it is a little tiring, it's not felt as it is for a happy reason. We've not got the place yet but the fact we're packing up is really exciting. We'll have to wait awhile and save, but I feel like we've got a place already just by all we've done and all we're doing to save.

I wish you the best of luck. I remember the days of packing and had hated it. I have been in my current house for two years now and still have not unpacked everything. I am still looking for my craft projects so I can get back into it. I am not working right now and I am getting so bored watching tv all day long. I am glad that you are getting things packed.

Yep we're packed and with realistic goals in place too. I think that we could most likely save up enough for downpayment in a years time. I'm also thinking after we get done packing everything we won't have very much to move from where we live now to where we're going to live. Most of the stuff is in a building somewhere. I know when I've moved before, and not with nearly as much stuff as it would take to fill a house, I still had a bit to unpack and it did take me a bit. I don't blame ya for not unpacking all as ya just don't need everything unpacked ya know.

It really is nice having your own place. Starting a home of your own and moving to a new place may be hard at first but in the end it's worth all the hassle and effort specially if the place plus the neighborhood is really nice. I don't have any idea how much boxes you guys have so packed so far the same way that I have no idea how many boxes my husband and I packed when we moved to our new house. lolz.
I was pregnant during that time when we moved to our new house. It was tiring but I'd say it was a good tired. I love our house now and also the neighborhood. It's a very nice place to settle in.

We've not yet got a place, we're just putting things into storage for now. We hope to get a place within the next year, starting in January lol. We're still packing things but after this we should be done packing until we either get more things or find more things we could put into storage. I have no idea how many boxes we've got of stuff though.
It was tiring the first day we started moving things but a happy tiring for us too, though I'm not pregnant yet.
