Remember when huffing was what you did after a good run or work out?

In my community we recently had a teenage boy found dead in a nearby canal. It seems that he had been 'huffing' which is a way of getting high young people are using . I wanted to bring this to the attention of my fellow members on here. I had no idea this was even going on. I knew a young man years ago that sniffed glue to get high but not this. The freeon that is used in airconditioning is what they huff. I tguess a lock can be bought for outdoor airconditioners so they can't get at the freezone. Also there are things to watch for. Here are afew things to watch for:
1. If there is a chemical smell
2. Has a rash around the mouth and/or nose.
3. Chemical containers coming up missing.
4. They seem drunk or disoriented.
What are thoughts on this issue?

Oh my goodness what else can kids get into these days..That is just crazy..when I was a teenager they thought sniffing gas was all the rage..something that I never did..nor did I think it was cool..I do hope that the kids come to their senses and stop doing things like that they only bring harm to them and their friends...might not happen the first time..but never can take chances with stuff like that.

I had a friend years ago that sniffed glue and the change in him was so sad to see. I started this discussion because people need to be aware.

hi celticeagle I did not know this was still going on, as I thought
by now the kids would have learned this is a dangerous and stupid
thing to do. It can kill the kid too.freezone of all things that
is one of the worst chemicals you could fool around with,. yuck.

Unbelievable the things that kids will find to get high on. My brother lost a friend due to sniffing inhalants back in the late 70's, early 80's. Then there's this choking thing that they're doing now. Just awful. What can you do, but try and educate them to the dangers, monitor their activities, hope they listen.
