Seems like everywhere i go i hear bad news. At my grandson's birthday party fri. night there was a young man there w/his children & wife that use to be my son's baseball coach. He looked soooooo bad. He hollered at me & i went over to talk to him later. They had brought him a chair & he was sitting by himself. I had no idea he had such problems. Come to find out he has had diabetes since he was 8 years old & it has affected his kidneys & pancreas. He is on the top of the list for a kidney & pancreas transplant, his name is Shane. Please pray for him. THANK U. iF HE GETS THE TRANSPLANT HE WILL BE DIABETES FREE, dO U KNOW ANYONE THAT HAS HAD THIS SURGERY?

A kidney transplant is fairly usual, Jo. I know someone who has been living with someone else´s kidneys for over a decade. I don´t know about pancreas though. But of course I´ll be thinking of him.

People with kidney problems many times have a leathery colour in the skin. Let´s hope he gets his transplant soon.

Thanks Gabs, it's never too late to wish someone the best. I have not heard anything about him getting the organs. I'm sure his wife would have it on facebook if they had called him. Happy weekend to u.

That’s a shame. I will pray for him for sure. When we feel well we take it for granted and forget people who are dealing with serious health issues every day of their lives. I have a good friend who will be getting a kidney transplant on the 15th October; her sister is the donor. My friend is 44 years old and she has been living with 9% kidney function along with regular bleeds in the brain that require regular surgery. She has health issues and yet she is the most energetic and vibrant person I know on her good days. I hope your friend gets his transplant soon so he can enjoy life again.

I do not know of anyone who has had a pancreas transplant, but it is good to know that a successful one would make Shane diabetes free. It is a relentless affliction. Prayers for Shane and who ever the donor might be.

Thank u so much Lelin. I had no idea he had gotten in such a shape. Sure my son knew it but he hadn't said a word. As i said seems like i just hear bad news all the time. U don't think about young people having such bad problems. I pray that he will get a donor soon.

I shall keep your friend in my thoughts! How terrible that his diabetes has gotten so bad! But stay positive for him and im sure he will be fine. As you say, he is at the top of the list for a transplant so I dont imagine he will have to wait long for a donor. This reminds me that I have to put myself up ro be a donor! I dont know anyone who has had an organ transplant but I do know that this kind of procedure has come a long way recently..With patients living relatively long, healthy lives after a successful graft. Lets all keep Shane in our thoughts! POSITIVE VIBES!

Thank u for responding & the positive vibes. I have felt so bad for him ever since he told me fri. night. I sure hope he gets his transplant soon & gets all better. We have just had a local preacher that had a double lung transplant. There is just too many things going on.
