It depends if the problem with your PC is with the software or the hardware itself. If it is slow, it could be that the disk wants a defrag, or you could have rogue files that have found their way into the registry and that needs a clean out. This is best left to somebody who knows what they are going. If this is the case, I would tend to save all my files etc and do a complete reinstall of the operating system. Personally I would stay with XP as I find it is a great operating system, especially if your computer came with it already installed. Windows 7 may be slow to load, I don't know, but I would search on line about installing it on your computer. I have upgraded my operating system before on an older computer a few years ago, and it wasn't very good, because it's spec wasn't suited to the new version of windows. You hardware sound pretty good with 3.20GHZ processor. You could add some extra memory (RAM) and that would make it even better. You can go on line and find some sites that will examine your computer and tell you exactly what memory it takes, and some have diagrams showing you how to fit it. You have to take the side of the computer, but it very easy. I have done this a number of times. Good luck with your machine, but I am sure you can improve its performance if all the hardware it OK. _Derek

You PC configuration seems good.. You just need to upgrade your RAM to 2 GB.. it will smooth your system.. and yeah you are asking about Operating System.. I don't think you need to upgrade your OS.. as windows XP is having almost all normal facilities.. Windows 7 won't make your system faster.
