My laptop crashes by video game.

My friend from home come to my home and gave me a CD game Downtown Challenge. It is very old ago and about shade model 1.0. I put CD to my laptop and installed it.
I am exciting to start playing it a few minutes late. When my laptop crash like itself turn off. I don't know why it happens. I thought It is not working. So I tried to switch power on boot up. It was working. I sight. I do it again three time. Then I stop and tell my friend that was not gone work. but My laptop was working. I still thought why it crashes. So I use an internet.

My desktop pc has been crashing when I am playing a big multiplayer game of Call of Duty World at War lately, because it is very hot and humid here and my video card overheats, and so my pc just shuts down completely.

If your laptop is working at the limit, before either throwing it away or buying a new laptop, have you tried making all the settings on the game the very lowest they can go? This can mean taht you can sometimes play the game. Also, make sure that you have the right OS, and if it is your laptop, use a fan, especially if it is stretching your laptop to play it. Also, close any unneeded programs going on in the background.
However, it may be a problem with the disk. Some disks can only be installed and registered for play once. Is it possible that because your friend lent you the game, it hasnt been registered, so you cant play it?
