What Do You Think About

Whatever we think about becomes an idol if it takes the place of God in our lives. Meaning, if it is more important than God. That doesn't mean that we won't plan or ponder about other things. We could, of course, as long as we still remember to put God first in everything. We need to seek His counsel and what His heart desires. I am guilty of this sometimes because I usually think about my family and my boyfriend. They are all living in places that are far from me. Missing them makes me think about them a lot. Sometimes they are the first things I think about when I wake up in the morning. I wonder if they are ok, what they are doing, etc. I believe that's offensive to God. I should think about thanking Him first for allowing me to wake up in the first place. So I guess I have to be more diligent in my faith and immerse myself more in God's presence.

Anyone who spends all their spare hours on anything other than a living on the internet is replacing God with that activity. Ex: games, chats more..........

Lately I find myself always thinking about my future. If the college I choose will be right, if my career will be successfull. And often times I find myself coming to the conclusion that I am so scared of the future. As a christian, i then have to remind myself who God is and what he can do, IF I put him first. I think it saddens god how not only do we not spend enough time studying his word, talking to him, but even our thoughts our now polluted with everything else but his work. I'm trying hard to change that, because when I get to heaven I do not want Jesus to see me as a stranger. If I fill my thoughts with Jesus then I know my actions will reflect his love and everything I have learned from him Hope that's useful input GOd BLess
