or for those who do not know what MIA is, it stands for missing in action. Sorry for the long abcense. It has really been quite interesting around here, and in my life Health wise, and sometimes I do not know where to even start. And then there are some Good things going on as well to keep me busy. but for starters for my Loyal followers, and hope some are still around, I will fill you in on some of what has been going on.
As many of you know, I am Diabetic. I am Insulin dependent due to other Health issues and somedays this in itself can be a chore for sure. Then to come along side with this issue, I have a Chronic wound that does not want to heal like it should. I have been dealing with this since around the first part of December of last yr. Finally the middle of January I finally went into a wound clinic thinking this would be an easy fix, when in fact it became a Nightmarish issue instead. (Personally speaking this I feel was one of the worst choices I made, but know in time Good things will come from it somehow.)
Here is a set of professionals supposed to be trained in Wound Care, and willing to do anything it takes to see that it heals. Also willing to try new things, or work with people's insurance, etc. just to have them feel you can Trust them to help get this to heal. But unfortunately in my case the people I chose to go and see was nothing but professional, and never wanted to give me anything to get the wound to heal as well. They never wanted to wash it off. They just debreeded it if needed and then covered it, never caring about how it looked. I ended up getting fed up and bought a product I found thru the myLot search engine for Wound Care called Terrasil. It did work somewhat, but not like I had hoped. I eventually kept on getting infection after infection being given medication they knew I was allergic too, or medication on a 4 day short term, to eventually get a Staph infection they never wanted to diagnose.
So I went to a New doctor, got a Second opinion, got an Antibiotic and now getting ready to go and get another evaluation, etc. from the other Doctor this week. I know that even with all this Hell I've been thru God is still in control, but for anyone who Prays will you keep me lifted up that somehow someway eventually this can all go away.
Hope to be able to keep you more updated with the rest of what is going on as I find time to be able to post in here.
~~TINA~~

Tina, I remember the trouble you were having, and I am sorry that it has not gotten better. At least you are using another doctor now, and can perhaps hope to see some recovery soon. I did pray for you just now and will try to remember to do so often.I will be looking for more posts from you.

Thanks my dear friend. Yes, it has been a huge battle for me, and I am not ready to give up, and excited to see where they will choose to go from here, and to see tomorrow if there is any Good prognosses made or if it is still going to be some time.

hi tina long time indeed and I remember before you were having a'horrible time trying to get the wound care you need. I think you need to find the closest place to you that uses hyperbaric chambers to heal those
kinds of wounds, are you diabetic by any chance? oh of course I just by passed the word diabetic and too I remember that from before. look up
hyperbaric wound treatment as I have seen it really does work for wounds on us diabetics.sounds like they were using steroids and they are hell on diabetics as they raise your blood sugar level to high lievels unsafe levels in fact. I went through that and never again.

I will send my prayers for you to get your
wound really healed well.

Well, due to my Insurance I have I don't think a hyperbarric chamber is an option. Unfortunately with my semi-ok Health insurance directed me to the place that actually made my wound worse. But I feel like I am getting a Grip with this issue again with changing doctors, and feel a little more relief, and just going to continue to believe for upcoming Healing in the months to come.
Thanks for the prayers my friend.

I used to answer all your posts as you are on my friends list but I too have beem MIA. My health issues are not good either (heart related) but thankfully I am not diabetic. My ex husband is on insulin as well and he has to be very fussy about his feet. He did have gangareene many years ago and was very lucky to have a good doctor and he saved the foot.
You are definately in my prayers dear friend and I know you will return the favour. Best wishes and by the way it was great to see you back. Take care.

Hello Tina! It’s good to hear from you again. I am sorry you are still having health issues. I recall you talking about the wound you have that refuses to heal, it’s on your leg isn’t it? I pray that it will resolved soon. You are quite right there are some things in life we cannot control and prayer along with hope is all we have. It is a shame to go somewhere for help only to discover that you are not being assisted as you should be. I hope that this last doctor will have more of a clue. All the best, good to have you back!

Yes my friend, the wound is on my right leg. It is about 1/4 of the way up past my ankle area. I do thank you for your prayers, and know in time that everything will be OK. I also am more confident that the Doctor I am seeing now will definately know more what to do from here. I see him in the morning to get more Test results from one Test they did, and then see what he suggests to do from here.

Hi Tina,
I feel sorry for the pain you have been going through. You have met with so many irresponsible people! I hope this new doctor is better and compassionate enough to know your previous history and prevent it from happening again.

Well unfortunately there is not much that they can do to ever prevent this from ever happening again. All they can do is try and help find more cures to help this heal and then keep on top of it with my help to see the Warning signs and keep on top of things from now on. I know it has been a struggle, and do not always understand why so many people supposed to be professional sometimes end up failing us, but I know no matter what happens God is in control.

Hi,Tina I'm new in MyLot and perhaps we can be friends. It's a sad thing to know people are suffering but as you've said,God is always in control. Let us trust Him and everything will be okay but we should also do something about what's makes our life difficult. Do your part and cast the rest to God. Hope you will add me as your friend!

All we can do is do our Part and Trust God to do the rest. It can be a struggle at times with what I am enduring, but I know there will be a time I can look back and know it was worth it all.

oh, I know about those wounds, my roommate was having a problem on her foot and my client on another part of her body
and they do take forever to heal, when you can get a good doc...
I'm not sure I wouldn't be talking to my insurance about a malpractice suit

I learned of a new product when I was working with a person who had celuitis. It's a washing foam, you push a button on the top and the foam bubbles push dirt and grime away without hurting the person. I'm sorry you had such trouble with your wound clinic. Ours is much better than that. They will even send visiting nurses to help people take care of themselves until the wound is under control up here.
I, too, have been MIA. Financial and health problems. But things are going much better now. I think I've turned the corner for both.
Yes, I agree, prayer can help you do amazing things. I had pneumonia once, couldn't afford health care. Had no energy. I prayed. Got energy, took a walk, saw a dandelion head glowing (there were tons of dandelions in a field, but only one glowed), ate that. Went back to bed. My body started forcing the phlem out of me in fast muscle spasms. That went on for a long time, at least it felt like a long time. Then I went to sleep. I slept the clock around and when I woke up, it was just like I had never been ill. So keep up the good prayer work.

That's pretty awful when your doctors aren't doing right by you. I hope that you do find something that works for you soon. 9 months is way too long for something like this.
Welcome back...

Well its good to see you back, and I'm sorry to hear about all the things you've been going through. I will keep you in my prayers, and I hope this new doctor will do something for you and get you started on healing up. I'm diabetic too, and I know how scary it can be to get wounds that won't heal, I've witnessed it firsthand in my family. Yes God is still in control, and he'll send you to someone that will help you...Take care..

Hey there KrauseHome
I am sorry to hear of your ailments but am glad to see you back on here. I too had been away for some considerable time, like 9 months or so, no particular reason, just didn't feel like it most days or was just busy with life in general!

When I was bitten by a Brown Recluse Spider and as a result had a really bad wound that would not heal so my doctor sent me for HBO (Hyperbaric Oxygen) therapy and it worked wonders for me. While getting the therapy I got talking to other patients and they were all Diabetics with wounds that would not heal. Most of them were getting good results with healing.
Here is a link to information on HBO treatment hope this helps:

Welcome back Tina, I have also been irregular here lately and only able to respond to few discussions since I am doing a little bit of traveling but will be back home soon so that promises my rocking mylot again. Well, I have noticed your long absence from mylot and your explanation here is well understood. Hope your diabetes is under control.

Oh, hey Tina. I'm so sorry to hear that you've been so ill and
gone through all this "medical red tape" (crap)! I'd definitely
write some letters when you are feeling up to it. I definitely
noticed that you were missing since it's not like you to just
"disappear", but my myLot PM's don't send (they never have)
and that's the one feature they don't seem able to fix! I just
don't even know what to say to you. I have alot of people in
my life with Diabetes so I know alot about it, more than I wish
I knew so I understand how important good wound care is, plus
I was a Medical Assistant and can't stand to hear about the
lacks attitude in the medical field now! I have had my own
issue of ER Room treatment! All I can say to you is that I
will be praying for you, so you take care and do whatever you
to to get the proper help that you need. Hugs, Leslie

Hello Tina,
last time I've heard you transfered to a new home.i hope you get well, my brother has gained a lot of weight that he obviously feared being Diabetic. sometimes, he would refuse to eat rice or other things that makes him too much to eat.
It must be hard depending too much on the food that could get us into trouble. godbless.
