How would you get yourself motivated (study or to work on a project)

Its a fact getting motivated is not the easiest thing. There are things that we just cringe when we hear the name mentioned. Though some subjects are made interesting most especially by teachers who present topics well, or students who can turn something boring into something fun and exciting.
I personally am a visual learner. This means I colour code my text create cards and mind maps. I draw pictures and diagrams when discussing a question. I put pictures in my flash cards.
For tests I create flashcards and games and even use little mnemonics to help me remember things.
What do you do?

i Love to study and that's what i missed a lot from college.. i don't know why but i am a very dedicated student way back.., my only motivation was to make my parents proud of me.. all the achievements i got.., makes me work harder and study harder.., it paid a lot.. and my family was happy with what i achieved as a student.., but that was then.., it's a different story now..that i am still jobless..=(

I don't love to study. I love reading on topics that I love! This makes it less like study. If school was mainly focused on things we liked it would be the greatest place on earth!
Its sad to hear that your jobless, most people are.. Though don't lose hope!
I think my greatest motivator is the drive to get into medicine. Along with the colour coded flashcards and different coloured notes.
I find that these help me stimulate my mind, which is good. I think that it is a great way for things to stick into my head most especially since I remember colour better.

I guess I give myself little treats to get myself motivated to work hard for school. When I need to study for a test, I'll set a time for which i need to study and then give myself a little break after that time to eat a snack or go on the internet.
Mostly this works, but if I want that break really badly, I might cut out some studying time.

The biggest motivation is that if I take care of this now, if I study or work on this project, I won't have to do it later. I will have it out of the way and be onto better pursuits. The moment that I got home, I always went straight into the homework. Of course, I tended to use every moment at my disposal to make sure that I got any homework or studying that I wanted to do in the downtime at school. That way I had a lot of free time. After all, if I'm going to be at the school, I'm going to do schoolwork and not have it be social hour.
I did take a lot of notes. That helped me learn things. That also helped me cut down on the time that I spent working and it also really allowed me to learn at a much more manageable pace. In many ways, I was studying as I went. There might have been a little revision and that is well and good. However, for the most part, everything was done and I moved on, ready to move on.
