The Village I live in grew around a road Junction..the main road makes a distinct right hand bend in the middle of the Village that has a 40mph speed limit on it..for good reason...There's lots of trucking traffic on this road,as there's a sawmill closer to the next town along, and logging trucks use the road all the time.I've seen the results of a truck taking the bend over the limit, the load shifting, and shedding logs onto the road, blocking it until a clearup happened..a small hotel that was right beside the apex of the bend went out of business, and developers demolished it,and built an apartment complex with a few retail units, the prime (and so far, only one) being a popular little restaurant which is a stroll away from my place..About a year ago, there was a stolen car chase which ended with the perp losing control on the bend and skidding into the restaurant, the local news at the time interviewed diners who had to dive to safety at the impact...There were various "Drive in or drive thru" restaurant gags circulating about the incident at the time..I had a dentist's appointment the other morning and was leaving home after 9am....and did a double take as I passed the restaurant on my way to town..the results of yet ANOTHER vehicle having collided with it,with what looked like a van's front spoiler in the roadway, and a busted window's class shattered onto the footpath that's all that separates the place from the road..how bad is the driving where you Live? Ever experienced anything like this?!

we sometimes have cars bottoming out on the street that comes from the main street to mine, and the people on the corner at the intersection have had cars hit by drunks... I've also seen a case where someone stepped on the gas during an argument with his girlfriend, failed to make the little corner at the end of that street, took out the fence (that would be the back corner and then the front of it) and hit the car in the drive way...

I've since heard the Restaurant is closed until a structural survey can be made of the damage that has been caused...and perhaps, plans made for some anti collision measures to be taken! (It must be a concern for the owners of the apartments above the place,too..)other towns and villages around here have had speed humps and other traffic calming methods built into the roadways to MAKE drivers slow down....It remains to be seen what results will come out of this here..

Here in my city and most other cities we have what you call 'dhaba', they are on road sides, one can drive there, eat good food at very reasonable price and drive out, kind of restaurants..
accidents do occur if drivers are drunk

I live in a suburb so there are not really any highways in the town where I live. The roads are pretty straight forward, not a lot of dangerous roads. There are a couple of roads that fork and you have to make sure you fork or you could end up on the wrong road, but I would not consider the roads around here dangerous. There wsa a car that went out of control and crashed right in to a Subway restaurant once, but the driver was having a heart atack or something.

Traffic wise,It shouldn't be a problem living in an urban street area..parking dings would likely be more of a problem than speeding..Just looking at your Avatar pic..You're a biker? You'd be used to watching out for carelessly thrown open doors from parked cars,then,too...It's said too that the most dangerous road can be the roads where you live,as you can get complacent being on them every day..
