My 2nd child likes eggs so much. She always ask for scrambled egg or sunny side up especially when she doesn't like the viand. I told her one time to eat only 2 or 3 eggs a week. I am worried because she's only 7 years old and overweight. Will it affect her cholesterol level?

Absolutely if she eats too many every single day it will contribute to high cholesterol.
She is awfully young so you may want to consult her pediatrician, however one other way to improvise is scramble only the egg white. Remove the yolk as it is what contributes to high cholesterol
Good Luck

Thanks for the suggestion. I hope she would still like the whites of the egg.

You are very welcome, and just do not tell her kids have a vivid imagination and if you not say it does not have the yolk she probably won't miss it. Good Luck

Oh yes,it is not good esp that she is overweight.
There are cases of child being diagnosed with high cholesterol level and also having hypertensions.
I hope you can make her understand that egg is good, but not for an everyday consumption.
You can asks some doctor friend to help you make your daughter understood the risks of eating eggs everyday.
Happy weekend

Yah, I've heard it too that there were increased cases of children with hypertension and high cholesterol level that's why I began to worry about her.

My father is the same, he seems cranky if we won't have eggs during breakfast. I know of someone's husband who's like that as well. I guess as time go, men tend to like or want more eggs in compensating for their old eggs hahaha.. Joke.
There was a study though that eggs give out good cholesterol and are really good for the body. I don't think you need to worry about it, as long as she's not getting obese - but since you mentioned that she's already overweight, I think you need to talk to a healthcare professional or a pediatrician to help out solve the problem before it's too late.
Try to determine though if it's because of the eggs or perhaps because of other eating habits.

Haha...that's for a good laugh at your joke. I have not brought it up to her doctor yet, thanks for the advice. I am trying to lessen her carbohydrates now, because she also likes rice. Fortunately, she's been cooperating with me, but not with the eggs.

Hello kristieena good day...yes it is not good though he/she is a child yet espeically as you said she's/he's overweight already. You must be strict in complying what is the proper diet for him/her since mother knows best.
If she/he would be used to it the more it would be more alarming....especially on his/her cholesterol level...
Thanks and happy mylotting..

I think one egg per day is OK.If you worry about her cholesterol level, Don't let her eat egg yolk.

I do not think that eggs will harm her. Eggs are good for her, but potato chips, and too much of the bad carbs. would have a bad effect. So I would watch the fries and also watch to see if she does not eat that many candies. Those do more damage then eating too many eggs. You could use a non-stick pan and also cook with olive oil and not use margarine. That would help.

It can affect her cholesterol level, yes indeed and she is so young on that age to suffer from cholesterol problem. You have to advice her of eating eggs 2 times a week only. However, i do not know if that is really dangerous as some street children and children from poor level of life eat eggs almost everyday as that it is the only one their parents can afford. but on your level, i think you must maintain your child to eating eggs 2 times a week.

It must be difficult for you as a mom to control things. But the mom knows whats good for a child. You need to stop her from eating eggs to avoid any problem that will occur in future.
