how to be flexible?

i've always wanted to be flexible because i want to be an athlete. when i was younger, i play a lot, but i can't say im flexible enough to be able to bend and reach my toes easily. then, i came across this site, i find it helpful in a way, so, check it out: www.ehow.com/how_5311062_become-flexible-short-time.html

Yoga would probably help a lot. Then of course so would some simple stretches. You just have to be very consistent in doing them to reap the full benefit. But if you continue them long enough you'll become more flexible.

That's for sure!! Actually you may feel tighter at first and have to work out some of the soreness when you first begin! But don't lose heart. Just stay with it to see the benefit!

One good thing that is an asset to keeping limber and maintaining flexibility here in the Philippines is the climate. Warming up and cooling down is important to preparing muscles for increased activity and the heat and humidity makes this easier to accomplish than say in Siberia! How important is stretching with someone else? It can motivate us as well as provide that extra push to increase our flexibility diba? Eric

ehow is a great site - as a writer, I use it all the tiume. I also used to be a fitness teacher, and loved how flexible I was. These days, I'm a bit more lazy over my stretches, but when I went bouldering on holiday (clambering over rocks on the beach to get into caves, basically) I was forced to overreach my muscles - my body felt elongated, I got into nooks and crannies other people shied away from, and it felt grrrrreat!

wow, thats great, yes, the site is really helpful,,, ^^ overstretching muscles is painful, one time, we had wall climbing, i had a hard time reaching coz, im not flexible enough, at the end of the day, i felt like wasted and lied flat on bed,,, ^^

nope,, im as hard as a wood, i guess,,, ^^ i'm not stretchy,, i can't really streatch much, but with the site, i guess i had some improvements,,, ^^
