At 51+ I could thread the needle without glasses....

I am thrilled about it. It, however, took me a bit longer (2 whole minutes to be precise). Let me just add - I have been sitting in front of computers for the last 23 years. By normal standards, I feel my eyes should be complaining. So when was the last time you felt thrilled about something related to your health? :)

I hope I still have that good eyesight at that age Seems that your eyes are forever young! Umm... well, I felt thrilled when I notice that many people around me who are older than me have been getting sick lately while it's been almost a year since last time I fell sick. Makes me feel invincible

Ok invincible - but dont take health for granted. We can plan for everything at retirement but for health. So as age advances, this becomes a greater worry than finances, rather it adds to financial worries. So please, please take care of your health. By the way, the last time I was sick was about 7 years ago. :)

You know Kala, just a month and a half ago, I was about 58 kgs, and I was mighty pleased with myself. Today, I am 60 kgs. :) That day somebody remarked, I was looking so trim, and so I decided, I could indulge myself some more, after all I was looking trim, and I was able to shed weight. Now, I have to start all over again. he he.

O P Nayyar style. :) And thanks for your wishes. :) Actually I like spectacles. :) Some frames really suit my face, at least I think so. :) My friends used to say, I look very nice in them. :) But eyesight is eyesight. :) Why do you want to walk with a stick though? :) Nowadays, we dont have that kinda problems I think. I hardly find anything using a stick. :)

Dear Vandana My case was very complicated. The baby was not growing in my womb, the reason being some sort of blockage in umbilical chord. When my baby was born he was just 1.5 kg.But i thank God that He saved him.I am truly blessed to have him.He really makes my day.

Oh god, I feel so blessed when I read such things. The only two major problems I've had are dental problems, and tuberculosis (very early stage). Apart from breaking my bones, in childhood, and also meeting a minor accident that gives me some pains at my knee. :) I cant really say healthwise I am unhappy. By following healthy lifestyle may be you can prevent future incidents. C-section you said? Actually I was reading some article the other day. I believe private hospitals tend to opt for C section more often than not. One reason is they earn more monies, and second thing is they can define the time when the baby would be coming in. That way they can accommodate one more patient. The difference in ratios between private and government hospitals is quite alarming.

Me too. I did some excellent sketching and paintings about 20 odd years ago. One of my bosses wanted one of my paintings - which like an idiot I refused! (It was a red rose - doesnt look nice to give to a boss). Today, I am not able to move the brush! God knows I tried, it came out so terrible that I didnt want to paint ever! May be someday. :) Not right now for sure. :)

Hi chiyosan :) I dont take offense at all when you refer to my age. :) So cool. :) Yeah - its so rare. Actually, there are some frames that suit my face very much. I mean I look very elegant and sophisticated in them (I think so) And I kind of fancy wearing glasses sometime. About two years ago, I did approach an eye specialist. I told him - look here - I have been in this profession that requires me to sit before the computer for most of the time, so I guess my eyes are goner. He checked my eyes, and he laughed and told me, as of now I see nothing wrong with you. And if you ever have any problems, you will know. :) If I can thread a needle, then I still dont have problems, do I? :)

Hi, vandana7. I am thrilled about my health everyday. I have an Herniated Disc in my lower back. I am able to still walk and move around. Not most people could do so. I hope that it will be like this for me as I get older in age too. That is so wonderful that you can still thread a needle without having any glasses on your eyes.

- no contact lenses here. :) I wouldnt have taken 2 minutes if I had them on. I know you are very young kiddo. :) No point in being lazy. But it is better to opt for brisk walks rather than jogging. I am told jogging affects spinal cord - especially as we age. So it is best avoided. Later on life it adds to osteoporosis. Hope you will mend your lazy ways soon enough, when you realize oldies like me are in good health. :)

I used too play video game on television(daily 7-8 hours) since I was a 9 years old kid...at the age of 20, I got my PC and started playing computer games (daily 4-5 hours)...Now I am 23 years old boy and spending 3-4 hours on net and Mylot and ..I am spending about 7-8 hours on my office computer...... but still still I have no problem with my eyes....It is perfect..... because I also wash my eyes frequently (in 15-20 minutes) with cold water when I have been on the computer..I take break frequently and splash water on my face at times........ I am 90% healthy...(why 90% because I have been suffering from Migraine Attacks only and only when I got caught in to fever ) except this No problem ...NO pain....No sufferings....enjoying health life.............

Hi deve_annrn, it does happen to all. Earlier, I could've threaded the needle in just a few seconds. :) So 2 minutes is a lot by any standards. :) Yeah, I guess, I am a lucky one. :) I have this home made table actually that keeps my eyes at almost 2 feet from the monitor. So I guess, that could be one reason I have survived so far. :) And as long as you dont have anything bad everything is remarkable, isn't it? :)

Wow, I am in my early forties and can't do what you did. Threading a needle is way out of the question. I also spend lot and lot of time in front of the screen and I use to think that is the sole reason why I cannot do such thing. Your post here really makes me think again. For that, I have decided to change my bulky CRT to thin flat LCD monitor. No radiation, less heat, lower power consumption... These are the stuff that convince me to make the change, not to mention that it won't strain my eyes anymore. I tell you when I will be thrilled. When I start to make more money. Yah, money is tight right now. And I am finding and investing way and time to generate more money. I prefer online way to do it. After all, we are in the Information Age. But of course, I do believe we have to put hard work in earning money. At least , initially. We have to master the trade. Get to know tools of the trade. After that, making money supposed to be easier. If not, then the niche or field that I have chosen is not RIGHT. So I search for the next one. And invest my time and effort in it.

CRT is surely a very durable goods. They can last for years and years without any maintenance. The only care one should take is to ensure that the heat outlet at the back is not covered. Having a laptop is a nicely alternative to a LCD monitor. A laptop is a pc with a build in lcd display. The added advantage of it is it is so portable; making it to be used almost anywhere with or without any power outlet. Currently, I find the laptop price a bit prohibitive. Maybe when I made enough to get it, I will get one. It is my next target for a pc. Good tip you have there on how to view the CRT monitor. I guess you would also stare some place else after a prolong staring on the screen. Do you take any thing for your eyes to keep them in tip top condition? Eye exercise?

Hi flowerhorn, there is nothing wrong with the way you have chosen to earn monies. :) I use CRT. :) I was planning to change it to LCD but it occurred to me, why now. If this system does give way, i will sell the CRT and whatever is remaining to get a laptop. Why end up with another desktop? :) So I refrained from changing it. This one has already given about 7 or 8 years service. :) And looks good for another innings of 7 to 8 years. :) Who knows what technology will be there at that point of time? I will buy latest then. :) Till then I'll use this one. :) I keep about 2.25 feet away from the monitor. See if that helps. :)

Drink milk may be? That helps, and eat vegetables - especially greens. Avoid oily stuff, pungent stuff, gram flour, grams, and anything just anything sour, including butter milk and curds. And eat 5 or 6 times - small quantities. See if this helps.

Hi hardworkinggurl, I used to suffer a lot of headaches when I was younger. It turned out that I was neglecting my breakfast, and eating more dinner. So I changed that. Things started getting better for me. May be you could try that. And it is natural to feel a bit stress with financial worries. That stress may be the cause of your headache. May be you could try to include some sport in your routine. :)

I have been getting headaches since I was a child. As for meals I started a regimen where I eat 3 - 4 times a day and I have an exercise bike I use 5 times a week. I started this last Oct 2009 where I lost 60 ilbs. I was never really big but am really slim now. The doctors can't explain the headaches outside of it being so much thinking that I do. My brain runs on autopilot and I can't get it to stop as there are many days it takes me 4 - 5 hours before I can finally fall asleep from all the thinking I do. Thanks for your comment I really appreciate it, maybe some of the foods I eat may not be quite enough.
