How many people would truly do that, like "Dear John"

I just wonder how many people would actually done it for his/her love one like the movie "Dear John". I hope there were many people already watch this movie. Well, John has spent many years in the army after he met this girl during the summertime. The girl he so fall - in - love has married to other man, and he was broken - heart. After he return from his army duty, he re - found his ex - girlfriend, and he also knew that her husband has cancer, and in need of money to cure his illness while the insurance not be able to carry all the costs. John sold all his father rare coin collections, and donate the money to help his ex - girlfriend's husband to get well. I think that is a truly love. Although he couldn't have her to marry him, he still want her to be happy. Doesn't matter she is with another man. I just wonder how many of us would do such heroic thing in life. I might not be able to achieve such thing. Jealousy might be the great barrier in my heart.
