I am really trying to take my two website to the next level. I want to be able to work from home full time on road2freedom.ws and winnergirls.org full time by the end of next year.
What kind Does one need to do to stand out from the online crowd? When you go online looking for a website either to make money with or for information, what really draws you attention??

What draws my attention to a site is a clean and professional look. I get turned off by sights with bright colors, alot of animations, and alot of exclamation points.
I like the simplicity of your Road 2 Freedom site. I would work on the logo on the upper left hand corner.

Hi kjones505... it's funny that you mentioned the logo. I am in the process of having this company work on it as we speak. I agree with you, I don't like a site with a lot of bells and whistles. the services should be the bells and whistles. I like vibrante colors but not crazy colors that will hurt the eyes are look like a childs site. thanks alot for your input it was helpful

I agree the logo could be dimmed a little it kinda outshines the rest of the page. One thing that I always look at when I am considering joining any program that I want to work, is the "about me/us" page I want to know that the owners can be trusted. If the about me page is lacking on information then I am thinking that the owner may be taking shortcuts on other things. Here is my page that I created in one of my sites; http://ozarkviews.roluweb.com/homepage/, check the about me page here.

Oops hit the wrong button! You can see that I have went into detail about me. I have nothing to hide and I have given nothing here that people can use to clean me out.

hi 34momma check out Midnight Moonlight Madness by my son for some ideas but you probably do not want to make yours that elaborate. I myself do
not have the foggiest idea of how to go about it. winnergirls.org
sounds really good and I keep promising I will check it out.

Hey Hately..just check out your son's site. I am not sure what the site is about. Winner Girls is not yet up and running. I am currently working on it right now. I am looking to launch it in early May. Sooner if possible. however with something like that you can't rush the process

I see that many are going with the clean layout, and that is good information. Another thing to consider is your connectivity. Many sites now are adding a widget where you can connect with the web author through Twitter, Facebook, and a host of other sites. If people feel they can ask you questions directly, and also add you as a friend and keep up with your organizations, you are not only guaranteeing more visitors, you are getting repeat visits as well.

i like the uncluttered look in a layout and well-written articles on it. i find most articles which deal on personal experiences (home, work, travels, etc) more interesting when a good bit of descriptions are made (color, texture, wit, adjectives, pictures), just enough to fill the readers' imagination/understanding of what's to see or read.
i also learned that website owners/bloggers who focus on their passions and interests find it easier to maintain their sites regularly and this can translate to loyal readership. hope this helps, and good luck on your two websites!

A professional looking website is of course a nice thing, but it doesn't mean as much if nobody can find you website. What should be very helpful and useful is search engine optimization, or SEO. This is a set of techniques to help get your websites listed higher on search engines. The number one source of new visitors are search engines.
