Devils/Bad spirits affect our mind especially when depressed?

do you think that sometimes devils or bad spirits will take advantage of us during the weakest times in our lives and would contribute to us having a depression, a bad feeling and even an attempt to kill ourselves or harm other people? would you agree that when people go through such times, when it drives them crazy.. it is the devil's work? My friend has told me before, it was a sister of her brother's wife and she got really depressed and started once saying to move the teddy bear away from her because it was scratching her hands.. and then she was telling a story about her dreams that she dreamt of a creature, 2 of them one holding a rope and the other holding a knife... few days after, they thought she is getting better, still lonely but better - and they saw her hanging in the window... she tied a rope and she was screaming - tying it incorrectly, at least she was not harmed. she then said that she saw something and it kind of urged her to kill herself... So what do you think? is it really about these bad elements, spirits, and demons or devils that are trying to still affect our judgement especially when we are most vulnerable?
