Where or when are your pit stops?

Tomorrow is payday. I’ve always associated paydays with pit stops. It’s like life is a journey, and once in while I get pit stops. Or in my case, I get it every other week. It’s when all or some things that I need in life get attention. It could be as simple as grocery shopping and we buy everything we need in the house, or it could be a break like a weekend movie, or a dine out, etc.
So what would you consider as your pit stops? How often do you get them? Is it a particular time? Or is it a particular place? Maybe church on Sundays?
Or are you just a racing buff like me and enjoy car pit stops and all the commotion and attention drivers get at a very short period of time?

I would have never thought about payday as being a pit stop, but now that you've mentioned it, I think that you are exactly right. That said, I think that the main thing that we always have to do after we've made our pit stop for the week is that we have to buy groceries and make sure my daughter has lunch money for at school. We also have to make sure that all of our household bills are paid. There are a lot of times that we are running on empty, but somehow we are always able to cross the finish line.

How true about running on empty! Specially when we are close to a pit stop. I guess that just part of being responsible. Making sure that we get to the next one.
How great it would be if these pitstops, a.k.a. paydays, are closer together.
Thanks dorann!

Working one full time job and one part time job does not leave me with much time for pit stops. But anytime my children are with me would be the best pit stop for me. I love my family so much and they love me back so it is a great bonus in my life. They are so close to each other and phone each other daily. I know that this is not interesting but I can honestly say that raising my children to love and support each other is my biggest pit stop

hi bounce The first of each month here is sort of a pitstop as we have a sheet with all one hundred names on it and we check mark our name when we want to take out money from whats left after
rent and meals are taken out. then once a week we are offered a trip to various stores, so I may go several times for snack materils ,. over the counter meds and maybe a new t shirt. this time I need to b uy myself a watch. I love to watch car races, indy four hundred is one of my favorites.

You always have an interesting way of looking at things. I guess in a way, pay day could be considered a "pit stop" for me, too, just because its' the day I'll take care of pretty much everything - the insurance bill, the groceries, the cell phone bill, the horrible credit card bills, the nasty tuition bill and whatever else I've got going on... But I always work on pay day. So it's not like it's a break from working and obligations or anything. But I guess it's a break from being flat broke (that's how it's been with me lately.. haha). I have sundays totally free though. I like to see my friends, spend time with my family and just RELAX and even do nothing and just watch some TV. That's my "pit stop" - before the crazy week starts all over again. lol.

I know!
I mean, I know what you mean about taking care of pretty much everything. It's the one day we could always breathe easy (easier). And I like what you said about being a break from being flat broke. Sounds like me too!
I know you work too hard maezee, and of all the people here in myLot, I think you need the most (and the longest) pitstops of all.

Hi bounce. Lately I feel like I don't get pit stops. I've been really busy with my "two jobs." Work at our office demands my full attention that I can't do my legal papers/pleadings in between. I've been juggling 9 hours of work at the office, then squeezing meeting with clients during office hours (for only an hour) or even after office hours. During the weekends, I work on my pleadings. This discussion reminds me that I need to have my pit stop as soon as possible. But it'll be a working weekend again, there are papers that need to be done, opponent's replies/answers that need to be read and studied.
Anyway, I remember that I got my pit stop last Wednesday. I attended a hearing and did not bother going to work at our office after. Instead, I spent the day with my mom and did some shopping. I also tried to catch some sleep that night because last Tuesday was just my most hectic day this week. It's only now that I've catched up on myLot and answered this nice discussion.ü

Hi arystine. Nice to hear from you. I guess you need longer pit stops! Specially if you're juggling two jobs. I personally think you work too hard so I think a break now and then is not only important but also necessary for you. I know there is only a certain number of hours in a day, so I hope you find your pit stop in between.
You do know what happens if you work too hard right? You get richer quicker!

Payday strictly reminds of time to pay bills, and yes replenishing groceries and household items as well.
