In a nutshell, my understanding of tithing or 'to tithe' is to regular give a specifi amount of money to your church or spiritual guide/mentor/organization. This stems from a biblical saying that 'when you give, you be blessed a hundred fold'. Do you believe it and do you practice it? Any experience you can share about tithing?

Regardless of what I think of it, the government forces me to "tithe" so much to them that I have nothing left over to give to anyone else! Right now I have to make a religion out of cutting coupons just to afford groceries (and we've already cut out cable, home phone, going out to eat or see movies, and we don't even have furniture because we can't afford it. No couch, end tables, anything!)

Same here, when I look at my payslip and see that 'x' amount goes to the goverment taxes, I can just shake my head. That amount could have stretched my budget a little bit more. With all the corruption going on, someone else is living in the lap of luxury while a majority scrimp and save living on a hand to mouth existence. Reality bites, ouch!
