Our local hospital is planning to begin a volunteer chaplaincy program, aimed at providing spiritual care for patients and families that request it. There will be training provided for volunteers. I plan to attend the meeting to see what is required in the way of time and length of commitment, as well as doctrinal expectations. Have you ever done such ministry? Or received such ministry? I'd like to hear your thoughts on the idea.

I think that would be an awesome chance to help people in their time of need. If you feel called to do this you should definitely look into it. My Dad was a hospital chaplain "on call" so to speak. He would be at the hospital a few hours on Saturday in the chapel, visiting people who request visits so forth, he had the chance to witness to a lot of people and lead some of them to the Lord.

I am looking forward to the meeting to describe the duties and requirements. I think there might be a few in the church I attend that would like to participate.
