I am spending the weekend with my DIL and sister scrapping at my sisters house. I have a hard time trying to decide what I want to take with..I have my pictures...got the stickers that go with the event.....try to find paper that is complimentary...so that is covered...its making sure I have everything with I want like brad, ribbon etc. So far I have four big totes of things ready to go. I have finally quit! LOL..do you have a hard time deciding what to take when you go scrapping?

hi Jill, just found this discussion lol. I know what ya mean. My daughter and I have attended many weekend scrap retreats. Luckily you are given a 6 ft table, plugs near every table, and plenty of room. I have a rolling scrapbook tote, holds all my paper, pockets for punches, ribbon, scissors, adhesives, and paper trimmer. I also have a small table top tote for markers, pens, stickles and other small tools, I have a container with my embellishments that fits down in my rolling tote. But thing I also have my laptop and criket, along with my small lamp! So basically I pack it all. I never know exactly which paper, cardstock and embellishments I will want to use for any particular layout until I start working on it. I am now planning on hosting some one-day crops and weekend retreats later this year.

I have the rolling tote too..but I don't take my cricut...both my sister have one so I just bring the cartridges they don't have....sound like fun hosting one day crops! And weekend retreats! We do that at my sisters who had a very big house!

I don't scrap so have no clue what is involved when packing. Did you also take a suitcase? This is what I take when I do craft fairs. I have one suitcase designated to carry crafts, bags and anything other I need to take. Have a great time with your family this weekend.

I know this is 3 months old, but still I'll respond. I never scrap anywhere but home because I never knew how it could really be done! When I get to the next page in my scrapbook, I like to pull out ALL my containers (I have lots of them) and really build the page as I go. There's no way I'd be able to pre-plan what stuff to bring, I would just have to bring it all :) I know some people have an idea what their pages will look like before they start, but I really don't. I might have a basic plan, but I usually can't say what paper I will use or what additional decor until I actually get into it.

I have to many things to take when I scrapbook, so I would much rather stay put and do all of my scrap booking at home. I haven't done much scrap booking lately though, because I like to leave my things laying out, so I can pick up at any time. My ideal place to have my scrap booking material is in it's own room, such as a crafting or sewing room. I have taken my things to someone else's house, and to tell you the truth..it's a pain to drag all that stuff around!!

That's for sure. I have been doing alot of scrapping right here at home lately..I have it all right at my fingertips that way!

I have a hard time deciding what to pack when it comes to anything, so if I scrapbooked, I think I'd have a couple of trunks coming with me. I'm really bad about stuff like that. I'll think, what if I want to do this, then I'd need that. I'm having those issues with Halloween decorations right now.

definitely. scrapping with others is fun because you can use what they have and trade and whatnot but its hard to know what to take to begin with.

The problem I was having was wanting all my punches with...we have a cricut but sometimes just to have what you need at your fingertips is alot easier! And I am finding that alot of the paper I bought a few years ago and haven't used I don't like anymore! LOL
