I know Rachel is a controlling and self-centered person. I don't like her character in the television show but she is the main character. It wouldn't really matter if we want her to be out of the show because she will never be kicked out of it. I think. What are your thoughts on Rachel's character? =D

She one of the main characters who just happens to be the star of the group. I despised this character and love her at the same time. She's not a static character, she's a dynamic character who gradually learns to share glory with others. She keeps her abrasive nature by the second season, but grows into a team player. She was somewhat flanderized by the second half of the first season. A girl who just a boyfriend to love her. (And what a shame, Johnaton Groff as Jesse was wasted by the scriptwriters. Groff was a brilliant, dynamic actor in Spring Awakening). And I cared less for the Finn and Rachel pairing. It's the usual shallow love interest story. I liked Finn for fighting off his desire for Rachel in Hairography for his loyalty to Quinn (until the right time for him to break up with her). But it's the stupid love-at-first-song story. And then the second season, I actually liked the pairing now because it's developing and complex now. There is conflict between them, and I did end up rooting for them. But to Lea Michele. This is a great role shift for Lea. When I heard Lea Michele was in the show, I wanted to see Glee, because that sounded like credibility, I was right. Although she gets most of the solos, face it, she's showcases her vocal power every time. I knew her from the Broadway stage musical Spring Awakening (when she starred along side Johnaton Groff who semi-raped her character on the stage for 2 years, 8 times a week) by watching the whole play on Youtube. While not in my top favorite Broadway performers, she definitely was my favorite. She was naive, innocent, sweet, and tragic. And so I expected to see that same sweet Wendla on Glee. And what did I get? A bratty, manipulative, naive diva. And Lea does an excellent job of it. She deserved her Emmy nomination.
