Have you taken loans? I have taken loans but i prefer to take loans from the bank rather than from persons. This is because the interest is low and also if borrowed from persons, it may result in some quarrel. In case of urgency, we can borrow loans from persons but it should have to be given back at th earliest.

If the loans include credit card debt, I used to borrow money from the banks. Personally speaking, I also prefer to borrow money from banks. The reason is very simple. I'm reluctant to ask someone to lend me money. If someone lend me money, I will feel that I owe him a lot including but not limited to money itself. Even if I repay the debt, it seems that I still owe him. If I borrow money from bank, I will not have such feelings after I pay the debt back.

I've grown up being taught not to spend money I simply don't have, so I personally don't see the point in taking out a loan.
I haven't been in a position where I've needed X amount of cash, as this is something easily avoided for myself and my family. The only thing I have is a mortgage and that's much different than a loan IMO, yes it's a risk but the re-payment isn't within an area I couldn't replay and fingers crossed it won't be long until it's paid off completely.
Loans are tempting, once you start spending cash you don't have it can easily take over and for that part a mortgage gives myself something in return for borrowing the cash.
Personally I'd never loan money to anyone either (well except my parents) That's another area I keep well away from.

I agree with the way you look at things. I have had neither a loan or a person loan me out money, but I agree with how you look at it - money can ruin friendships and relationships. I wouldn't want to get my friends and my finances involved - I really wouldn't!
