I wanted to tell you this story last night but trouble is i got lazy mylotting that i decided to watch the "star movies premiere" PANDORUM and "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in HBO". i only mylotted around midnight i got so sleepy so i slept with posting anything. So last night, i went out buying some 3 in one coffee packs because were almost of cream and milk powder we add to the coffee. i bought and the cashier give me the receit. then, there's this employee talked to the lady with the native language. i didn't mind until she asked me "do i understand it, and she laughed a bit" I don't say anything, some how i felt deeply upset of what she did. this lady came from the same province as I but i was born in a different city.so i never learned the language.except my mom and dad. i try to start to make conversations with her but she talks back as if she's insulting me. and kept asking if i do speak the native language. I told the other employer who went back to his cashier, that what she did was discrimination and i told myself "why bother learning the language, what's to be proud of it" anyways. I've told her many times that i don't speak that language since i don't have time. a translation would have been appreciative but no, she had to asked and laugh I have been buying on that store since they're boss was pregnant years ago. that's the first time i ever felt so insulting.but i won't complain unless it has something with the product i purchase. she'd better just zip her mouth by the time i buy stuff there again! . I won't get mad if Filipinos are being discriminated abroad, because even here we have discrimination....

It is quite real that Filipinos are like that, many are racist they don't even know they are.

Hello gorilla, no wonder people are so packed up with hate. specially when they want to hate a filipino, i asked myself maybe they do have a reason for it. i used to be staunch defender against discrimination but if our own people doing the same, why bother getting at it

Hi sweetie. I get that a lot here. I don't understand afrikans, neither do i speak it even if i grew up here. I get what you are saying and i know filipino's can be awfully rude when it comes to language. Better watch out the angel will be teaching some a few manners very soon. Next time, ignore her. You don't need a diploma to be rude, insulting or discriminating. She will get the point eventually. TATA.

Hello Saphrina, Now, i understand why most Filipinos are not quite respected abroad because of such a bad attitude. even zandi told me about the bad reputation that filipinos are doing in Indonesia, it's too awful but true. well, it's not the kind of education that we should be having, it's natural human nature thing.

I like what you said about not needing a diploma for that kind of behavior. :)

hi Letran I would have been really angry as nobody has a right to talk like that to you. She was being racist and thats really stupid in this days era. WE are becoming that small world after all and need to welcome our fellow humans from all over the world, there is no place in this world for people who are racist. the fact is the we all belong to one big world.

Hello hatley, well, i don't know if she has internet. which i seriously doubt, because seriously i don't want even to see her online. there are racist across the world, sometimes, these people should know their place and get to know what was it that supposed to be a joke. but probably i leave it to GOD when it comes to them. since they don't know what they're doing.

Hi, Knight.... I don't know what to say. I read this post because I was curious to know what happened to you this time. After doing so, I felt sorry, not for you but for the other person... By simply acting that way towards you , she only showed how mal-educated she is...Feeling that she is more superior than you are, have by all means, flaunt it with exceeding confidence without realizing that she is rude to you. She is one of those conceited people thriving in false confidence that makes the world a not so pleasant place to live... Hush, dear... You are far more better than her. You know better than to let her make yo feel that way.

Hello eurekafemme, I don't really think that much of her being superior to me, but i do think she was trying to make fun of me. in which i know, she is very very rude, and pathetic for a cashier. they should respect me as i respect them. yeah, i know i am better than her but i don't want to brag. knowing the language doesn't mean she's smart, the attitude i think is what matters most.

They shouldn't have done that. They can talk in their dialect but it is wrong to laugh and make you feel that the are talking about you and your inability to understand their dialect. They were being "bastos".

Only She was "bastos" the guy didn't do anything. I try to avoid her as much as i can. she has no right to do that at all. they're not talking about me but asking me if i understand it was a bit off.

shes not in the position to treat anybody like that. the next time you come to the store just ignore her. philippines have many dialects and languages i think shes aware of that or shes just stupid to understand the differences.

Hello sweet, I think she is just acting stupid or something.. she thinks probably that pangasinan languages is the best there is, but what's to be proud of speaking the language? if she only meant to humiliate me? that's fine. but that's a prerogative for me not to learn the language.

Well for me its really cool to learn your native language. It would seem like you are closer to your roots but what the lady did is really a bit unappropriate and was really rude. People has this tendencies to brag about what they know even if it's not really noteworthy to brag about. Let her be she is not worth your time

Hello hexeduser, It's just a language to me now.. i believe compulsary knowing the language is just a not so motivated thing to do.what's the point of knowing all the filipino dialect if you are worst than a foreign racist. i'd rather have a filipino who don't speak the language but has the attitude of being a Filipino.

It really feels bad. I wouldn't know what I have said if I were at your situation. Maybe I would told that lady something nice. It's not about knowing about he language more than others but it's a matter of respect to others. Bluntly asking you if you know what they were talking about is such a rude thing to do. And if you have already told them that you don't understand it, they should have told you at least what they meant. Anyway, you did the right thing but I must suggest, when they do that once again, give them something to think about. At least to let them know it doesn't make them a much better person. ^_^

Hello starlight, No, it won't make me a better person either. besides, she's just a clerk there, that's the kind of attitude that i expect coming from the province directly..but i haven't come back there since that night. probably if she would do something that again, i might do a scene and make her realize she shouldn't talked to me at all.
