What do you want done with your remains? Buried or cremated. My husbands grandma was buried in Puerto Rico but not into the dirt. At this cemetery they have the ground dug up and then cement the walls and the ground. Then the casket is put inside which can hold up to 6 caskets. After the casket is lowered into this concrete box then they put a slab of wood over the casket then pour concrete on top of the slab of wood only. They spread the concrete nice and even over the wood. Then a marble slab is placed on the very top of this box with the flowers from the wake on top. They did all of this in front of family and friends. There is now room for one more casket to go on top of grandma. I have never seen this before but I found it to be strange and very sad all at the same time. After witnessing this experience I have decided to be cremated. Its easier and less expensive then a burial. How about you have you decided what will happen to your remains and have you seen strange funerals too?

mY CHILDREN & I HAVE NEVER TALKED ABOUT THIS BUT ALL MY FAMILY HAS BEEN BURIED in the traditonal way. I really wouldn't have any of my family cremated. I have always teased & said they could plant me out in the back yard would be fine w/me. I don't guess it really matters.

I think the majority of people are buried in the traditional way. Though I have heard of different ways to be buried or cremated such as being cremated with your ashes being put into a corral reef under the sea. There is a website and everything for this type of burial.

Hey, this is a very interesting questions. I also thought about this and until now I wanted to be cremated and have my remains place somewhere in our home so that I can still be with my family. They can talk and visit to me anytime they want so I guess it's more convenient and hassle-free.

Yes it is definitely more convenient and cheaper when one is cremated. I might divide my ashes between my two daughters to be put in a urn if they wish or not. They may be creaped out by this though. Ha! Ha!

my dad was buried into cement walls too
well it was soil but they built cement walls around the casket
I think my mom decided it that way
my own remains, hmm not sure yet
maybe just bury it in the backyard of the house
anywhere as long as it is a known soil to me
cremation is OK too

I hope you told your husband this. Who knows he may do the same for you then he will have everyone in the house with him.

Hi Lelin. I will be cremated and thrown to the winds and that is what I will do with my husbands remains if he goes before me. Then after which ever of us goes first the other will have a party with all our friends and celebrate the time we had together. I wouldn't want to have another casket on top of mine either I think this is in bad taste. After all we won't have any use for these human bodies our souls will be with the FATHER when we die we go straight to Heaven.

That is what my significant other wants too. If he goes before me he wants us to have a big party with music and dancing. I don't know we shall see who goes first. I surely hope its me.

Earlier in my youth I never wanted to be cremated because I'm so afraid of fire. However, now that I'm older and wiser its the best way to go from what I can see.

i dont know hahaha it is quite morbid to think about dying and how i want to be buried after i die..i find it icky..and eerie..lol. my husband can do whatever he wants to do with my body after i die..lol
