Question about siamese fighter fish

Ok, so I have 3 siamese fighter fish...1 female & 2 males...all in different tanks as is understandable if you know about these guys. All I am wanting to know is if I am able to put some aquatic snails in with my males...I know they will attack just about anything that enters their domain though...I am wanting to find out because my male tanks are looking like they need a bit of a clean & I thought if I put a snail in each tank, then that will help with the cleaning.

The males are territorial & will fight off any brightly colored or long finned fish that they might think is another male which they see as competition. Sometimes they even mistake some of the more colorful females for males & attack them as well. You can put the females with most any other fish or snails. The males would also be O.K. with anything they find non challenging such as drab colored fish or snails.

This is a relief...I put a snail in one of the male tanks yesterday as a tester & he is still alive this morning...Ugly Phil (my fish) sis try to attack in the beginning but is now leaving the snail alone - it's just a yellow mystery snail.

I love bettas but can't decide what colour to get so I haven't worried about it.

It seems you should be able to put a snail in the tank with no problem. Make sure you read the responses as well as they too were interesting. Have fun!
