My first introduction to blogging was on a site called WritingUp, now defunct. I really loved the community feel of that site and have been searching for another "comfortable" community in which to settle down and blog. I have tried BlogEvolve, Communitai, HubPages and Blogger. None of them has the community spirit I am seeking.
Know on any good blog community sites?

Haven't tried WritingUp, i only blog through Blogger. I never thought HubPages is a blogging site. I will visit BlogEvolve and Communitai later. Have not seen that site, i only know it through you. Well if WritingUp has a good community spirit, then I am in. Hello Errol!

Greychunny, Writing Up and Communati are now defunct--not operational--BlogEvolve has been invaded by sploggers and the adminstrator allows it to go on, so most of the serious bloggers have left.

BloggerParty is still out there. I do not know how active or community it is these days, but it might be worth looking at.

Live Journal is a good place to blog if you have an interest that fits into one or more of its communities. There aren't communities for everything, but once you find one that's a good fit and get to know people, it's easy for all the members to keep up with each other. You friend people, and when they post something new, it will be on your friend's list. It's also fairly easy to get to know people even without joining communities. Just do your own posting, comment on your friends' blogs, and they'll eventually get to know you.
I use Blogger, but there really isn't any community spirit there at all.
wordpress.com started a subscriptions feature recently. It works just like friending, and you can set up tags that you're interested in and read the blog posts that use those tags. Not all of them will be what you want, but you can get to know some people that way.

thanks for the input Catana. I will look into Live Journal. I have tried Word Press in the past, maybe it needs another look too.
