How to acess the bios screen?

Hubby's lap top took a dump and he was working on the PC and the netbook and said I messed them up (mind you the kids use them too!) and he needs to get into the bios to try to fix them. However he says whatever I did he can't acess the bios and I think he usually access them thru hitting escape while the pc is booting. Is there any other way to do this outside of that? Or what do we need to "repair" for him to get into the bios?

I also had this problem before, with my hp laptop and it is now under repair with service center, can you please mention your brand and model then it ll be easy to give any suggestion.
My PC had display problem, it was able to start all light were on but there was no display, then I turned on and off PC again and again and it worked
Ask him to remove and again put RAM and then start PC then it may work for him....:)

It can vary from computer to computer as my laptop is F8, while our pc is f10. Here is a link with step by step instructions.
