It's getting colder here in Minnesota and I love snuggling under my comforter with my flannel sheets on while my nose sticks out into the cooler air! So today I put them on and I am looking forward to sleeping all snuggled up in them tonight. It's one of my little pleasures in life. I am really looking forward to my next day off to lay in bed for a while and just stay cozy and warm! Do you have a favorite blanket or throw...how about flannel sheets?

I don't have any flannel sheets but I wish I did...even down here in Alabama it gets pretty cold. I have been to your wonderful state though. In 2006 some friends and I came up and canoed the boundry waters. It was the most beautiful place I'd ever seen.We stayed in Eli and I can't wait to go back...soon I hope.Well stay safe and warm good night from way south.

We put our flannel sheets on here about three weeks ago and it is so cosy and warm in bed that I hate having to get up when the alarm goes off on a morning.
I also have a new duvet that is really warm and I just love snuggling into bed. Infact for the last two nights I have gone to bed at 9:30pm just because it feels so cosy.

Do flannel sheets really keep you warmer then other sheets? I have one flannel fitted sheet but its older so its not really any different then a regular sheet becuase its worn in. It just doesnt seem like they would make you much warmer as the flannel sheets even new arent very thick but maybe its just something to do with the material helps you stay warm. I dont really care for how they feel they arent super soft to sleep on like regular sheets or satin sheets. I bought satin sheets just as it got cold and I was like what was I thinking and put them away until Summer.

We should invest in flannel sheets, as cold as I am now, I would love to snuggle under something warm like that..I do have a collection of blankets, (probably due to not having great heat in the home) so I am warm at night..It's during the day that I freeze..lol

My apartment is actually very warm, and I don't pay for the heat. We have old fashioned radiators (built in the 1940s) and they keep these places warm as toast. I hope you enjoy your day off staying in bed nice and cozy, haha. Sounds like fun.
I use to have a favorite blanket when I was little and it was a feather tick. It was sooooooo warm but now I am allergic to feathers, lol! My bedroom was in the back of the house and it was chilly so that use to keep me really warm, along with my little gas heater. Boy, that's going back pretty far but a nice memory.

OMG, now I have to go dig out my flannel sheets!!!! Tonight will be our first chilly might & flannel sheets do sound good!!!!
I crawl between the sheets, covering my head then I breathe through my mouth warming up the air between the sheets. When the air between them is nice & toasty, I uncover my head so I can breathe some of that nice cool air!!! My body heat usually keeps me warm the rest of the night. If it doesn't, I cover my head again & repeat the process until I'm warm again!!!

OMG NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
When I was growing up my grandparents had heat in only ONE room & it was not the bedroom!!!
So, I had to learn the most efficient way to get warm. Needless to say, when it was below freezing at night, the sheets were extremely cold. The air in the room was extremely cold, so I covered my head in hopes of finding some warmth. The labored breathing came from being soooo freakin cold!!! That's when I discovered that I could heat up the bed relatively fast by continuing to breathe under the sheets. It's cheap, warm & reasonably comfortable!!! Oops, sorry, I think you already know that since you do the same!!!!

Don't have flannel sheets but do wear flannel pajamas. Sure keeps me warm. Our kids use to have flannel sheets and they loved them. I have a down filled bedspread that keeps me really warm in the winter.
Starting to get cooler in Missouri now too. The leaves are just about off the trees and it looks like winter is just around the corner. I dread the cold weather.
Enjoy your next day off, hope you can sleep later and keep warm,
carolbee

Have you had that day off yet to enjoy those flannel sheets? lol I can imagine it IS getting right cold in Minnesota! Brrrr!! I'm glad I'm in North Carolina!! I don't like the cold and don't like the snow even more! It does get cold here but nothing like it does there, I'm sure. Right now at 1:30am it's 36 degrees and I'm concerned for my outdoor cats, hoping they're warm enough in their box beds that I bought for them. I just told hubby he needs to build a big wooden cat house to put these box beds in so they'll be even warmer with the little space heater we gave them and so he's going to build it tomorrow for sure.
BTW, we have two sets of flannel sheets and my parents have about four. lol

We have a set of flannel sheets. They have a forest setting and deer. I put them on the bed this time of year too. I don't put them on as often as I'd like. I like them best on the bed after a good snow, when school has been canceled..we stay in bed watching movies.

I would love to have some flannel sheets myself. I just never seem to buy any. There used to be a golden comforter on my grandmother's bed that was so silky and light but so warm. I loved it! When I was very young I would sleep in her bed and she would read to me. I loved that comforter. It was not heavy at all. Very light but very warm. Yum!

wow! You have brought back a memory when in the winter my mother would put the flannel sheets on the bed. We used to have flannel nighties too. Then as we dressed we had to wear something called a liberty bodice that went over our vests and it was fleecy lined to keep us warm. Gosh - a liberty bodice - I had forgotten all about that

Hiya Jill,
Lucky you I know what you mean. I bought a comforter the other Day and it keeps me really warm too. I don´t use flannel sheets but I use those small Polar car blankets to put under the Summer bedspread to cover up with on the Sofa and they keep me warm without getting too hot.
Works a treat and I don´t want to put any Central Heating on when I am there snuggled up under those cozy little blankets they are so neat and come in lots of colours. I am going to buy another one soon.

Hiya jill,
Yes those polar blankets are very soft and nice and warm. I like the colours they come in as well. Tomorrow I am getting one that is three different shades of mauve. They make great support rolled up under Pillows that are too soft as well and not hard on the neck if you want to read in Bed say. Going to keep warm right now as it´s quite cold in here. Take care now. xxx

Hiya Jill,
Me again. I have been using those little Polar Blankets a lot as it´s been really cold up to now and it´s going really cold again.
I prefer them to big heavy Blankets as well especially for the Living Room.
They also come in lovely patterns too and colours. I know I said that already but the price of them is very good and they wash and wash and wear very well.

Hello Albert Lee! Minneapolis here! I'll wave!
I just bought a king sized comforter bed set from Macy's. Big sale. Then I have a maroon comforter/quilt to snuggle with during morning coffee in the living room. Up north at the summer place we have two flannel lined sleeping bags my dad bought 50 years ago. Flannel=GOOD!

Im with you Jill! I love slipping into nice clean crisp sheets on a cool night. With my white handmade patchwork quilt. Only to be completed with my purple down filled comforter. Its about 4 years old now. So its broken in. My husband insisted on buying me a new one when he painted the bedroom. That night we went to bed and he said Honey You were supposed to throw away the purple one. I just put the new one over it! lol. I have a favorite pair of 400 count sheets that are so soft. I love them! The only problem is I always want to go to bed. LOL Enjoy your flannels. Happy MyLotting dl

It's still very warm at WuHan, China. Maybe you know, WuHan is famous for its hot and local snacks. However, I prefer snow to hot, it's said, it may be a cold winter this year around world.
