So we're watching a show on the Biography channel about the captains on Star Trek, and they're comparing Picard's record with women to Kirk's. Poor Picard was supposed to be the cerebral, unapproachable one, and they don't even have him get together with a woman until something like season 3. He had 8 liasons total, one per season. And then there was Kirk at 5.25 women per season. Don't ask me how he had .25 of a woman. I don't want to know. Some of them ended badly, 7 were aliens and one was an android. This is where the Dearra rant starts... "An android," shouts Dearra? "Why would he kiss a tin can?" "Dearra, it was a humanoid with skin..." "Mom," she continues on without even hearing me, "why would he kiss a machine? Come here garbage can, I love you." hahahahaha I think she's going to be a comedian when she grows up!

The original Star Trek always got to me because of the line in the intro "to where man has never been before". Yet, they kept finding people. Also, to my memory, I think KirK got it on with more than 5.25 women per season. It seemed like almost every week it was somebody else. And what was the job of the blonde yowman who was on the first year?

ah yes, Janice Rand (Janis?)... It does seem like 5.25 is waaayyy too low.

Perhaps it was more so that Picard was an intilectual more so than Kirk was. And in reply to your daughters comments, they are "men".... if it looks female and they can potentially shag her by one means or another they will follow. Law of nature I'm afraid or men are just all ___?____

We'll she'll be ranting about the behavior & desires of men as long as she walks on Gods green Earth. Not that us ladies are always perfect either but men have a bigger reputation for such things

I don't watch movies much of the time but it is good to have someone who can bring out the humor while watching a show. Looks like she has what it takes to be a comedian.

I love my computer. I even fight with it. Its my baby, my bf, my grandma (that is what I call it many times), my soulmate...but kissing... I guess I have to grow some more into that weirdness. he he. As to Dearra being a comedian - I have to agree with you. Blonds are so naturally into it.

Kids and their creative imagination, but who knows she just might be your shinning star of the family. Good Luck with that.

hummmm did they count Dr. Crusher? Now, maybe they were counting the movies as a 4th season and so he got 6 women in one season hence, 5+5+6+5 divided by 4 = 5.25.

I think Spock only had, maybe three when he went into heat. Poor Scotty only had one and Jack the Ripper killed her.

Kirk only had 5.25 per season? I would have thought it was more... all that testosterone and all... maybe his braggadocio tempered things...

I think Shatner was playing himself, which was another reason most of the rest of the cast hated him.

Dearra has a sense of humour all right! She does have a point though...An android is a machine made of metal so falling in love with the garbage can is probably a lot less complicated than a contraption with wires, plugs etc. and...Skin?

Too funny! It's icky, but some men well "do" anything that remotely looks female ...even if it's come hither garbage can! Something we learn when we get older - not Dearra's age (I hope!). Personally, I'd go for Picard than Kirk!

I think I agree with Dearra, why would a tin can, or a machine count as a love interest? Maybe that's why there is a .25 in the count. Some are not full women. Maybe an alien would just count as .75, an android just .25, a tin can .1, etc. Maybe she will! Specially if she keeps her keen sense of observation!

I don't know, I think I've kissed a tin can disguished as a man before. Needless to say, the relationship didn't last. And I might even have kissed .25 of a man. That relationship didn't last either.
