Eric Cantor's idea of compromise.

He will only approve a policy if Obama is with the republicans 100%. Otherwise, they will stage everything as Obama's fault when nothing is getting done, and the dumbed down Americans will believe it.' http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/11/07/eric-cantor-compromise-tax-cuts-obama_n_780029.html

I really have to point out that the "100%" remark is part of the blog post written by the Huffington blogger and NOT part of Cantor's remarks. I have to assume that the "dumbed down Americans" is your phrase. You guys just can't stop yourselves from calling everyone dumb, can you? No wonder they got their a$$es kicked in this election. Voters don't actually want to be called dumb, did you know that? John Kerry says they are the lowest common denominator and in a new era of "know-nothingism". Obama says they are scared and not thinking clearly. Somehow, the fact that it is his policies they are scared of, has failed to present itself to his consciousness. The voters spoke. They disagree with you. Those elected were elected to do some very specific things. You don't like them. I get it, but they're going to do them anyway and not because they are evil incarnate, but because that's what they were elected to do.

If the other 46% of the voters agree with you, why aren't they smart enough to come out to vote? Angry old people, who are dumb, who don't agree with you. I wonder which of those three is the part that truly describes your problem with them? I pick the last one. Why would I care what anyone at the Huff n' Puff thinks of me? Calling me dumb has no effect, by the way. I don't have insecurities about my intelligence.

So, for the other 46% of voters, their apathy overwhelmed their intelligence. Therefore, apathy makes you dumb. But, you said the 44% that voted were dumb. That means everyone is dumb, but some are more apathetic about it. My ego is not over-inflated. It is precisely inflated to the proper pressure to insure resistance to excessive hot air spewed in my general direction. 'The majority of the democrats who lost were blue dog democrats, so yes, we did send a message. We don't need mini-republicans on our side, we need progressives.' Liberals purposely voted for republicans to teach the not-liberal-enough democrats a lesson? It's either the most ridiculous or the most insidiously clever scheme I have ever heard of... imagine, losing on purpose just to provide a contrast.

People who turn to a "news source" that states that Los Angeles PD is buying 100,000 jet packs are pretty dumb. The majority of the democrats who lost were blue dog democrats, so yes, we did send a message. We don't need mini-republicans on our side, we need progressives. 44% of the voters came out this election, with the majority being angry, misguided elderly conservatives, who voted against their own interests again this con job. While looking at the article, take some time on huffpost to see just what people think of your side and the teaparty. I think I figured out what gets to you. A high school drop out atheist is smarter and more compassionate than you.

Didn't you just write a letter to the President urging him to compromise 0%? You and this guy should be best friends.

It was Obama's bipartisan dreaming and the blue dog dems that got us in this current mess. Yes, Obama should NOT compromise with the party of NO, who has said they will only spend the next two years either forcing Obama to move to the right, or they will spend the next two years in gridlock, spreading rumours that our lack of progress is all Obama's fault.

You say Obama should not compromise with Republicans. Cantor is saying (allegedly) that Republicans shouldn't compromise with Obama. It seems to me you guys are remarkably similar. I bet you'd both tell me you were justifed in saying so because you're "right." And then if I questioned that, you'd both drop the "I have facts" line on me. And then you'd both show me picked-and-chosen tidbits of the whole to back up your point. And then I'd be looking at nearly identical arguments and left with one burning question: who do I trust more and why? And then you'd both shout, "ME, ME, ME!" And then I'd be rolling my eyes and saying, "I'll trust myself, tyvm. I don't really need either of you, so please move." And then I'd probably get insulted and called stupid or compasionless or blind or worse. And then I still wouldn't care.

I am right. Cantor is wrong. Obama is already compromising on the tax cuts. They will be extended for all who earn $250,000 or less. Those earning in excess of $250,000 will still be given a tax cut for their first $250,000. Sounds like Obama already offerred a compromise. Giving any further help to those who don't need it, such as millionaires and billionaires will add $700 billion to our deficit.

It's bad enough you keep using that stupid left wing hate blog as your source, but did you even look at who wrote that article? It was written by that filth Amanda Terkel. Oh I'm sure you have no idea who she is though. She's just the pig that decided to lead a protest of the "It Happened to Alexa Foundation". That's an organization that helps rape victims deal with the financial and emotional toll of going through a trial and confront their attackers. Of course the organization committed an unspeakable crime by hiring Bill O'Reilly to headline a benefit to raise money. God forbid they have a "conservative" help them. So she did what bloggers do. She took a snippet from his radio show out of context and used it to rally other ignorant morons to protest this organization regardless of the hurt it caused to Alexa and her family or the damage it would do to an organization that helps rape victims. She's just another moron who will do ANYTHING to smear conservatives. As such, I don't give a crap what her or anyone else on Huffpo writes. They're well known liars who wouldn't know the truth if they were slapped upside the head with it. Of course you're not much better with the truth. Cantor NEVER said "He will only approve a policy if Obama is with the republicans 100%." That's what Terkel said and you repeated. If he doesn't say what you want him to, the next best thing is to put words in his mouth and hope the people reading your thread don't know you well enough to check your statements which are typically bogus.

Somebody's been doing some reading and seeking (unsolicited) guidance from the "experts" on implementation of new (extremely old and ineffective) tactics. Like they say - this too shall pass. Lefty is just trying to find fluidity in a nagging voice that stays true to purpose and doesn't tremble when doubtful and doesn't misstep when angry. Giving yourself over to the rules and adhering to the set formula takes some getting used to. I'm guessing we're looking at another solid few weeks before the on-again, off-again retreat-engage cycle reconvenes. In the meantime, the attempt at takeover is seriously fun to watch.

Um, taskr - perhaps watching a video is not your strong suit. That video, by the way, courtesy of Faux News. Eric Cantor danced around saying he would compromise four different ways. Dancing is Cantor's strong suit. I am beginning to think he hired someone to shoot at his office to make himself look like he was attacked during the drama surrounding healthcare reform. He is a conniving SOB, but savvy enough to avoid certain buzz words when needed to. He is actually the smartest republican in the house.

Hi Ladybug, I wish that everyone would just stop competing over who is the best party. They all have something to offer. If they would just work together and knock ideas around and come up with something that is good for the american people then I don't really care if it is republican or democrat or what. I really could care less what party they call themselves but only about the end result. I have to say that Materfish made an observation that was not lost on me. Both parties argue against each other with strong and equal conviction. For someone on the outside trying to decide well, it just feels like I'm a child being forced to choose between two battling parents both of whom are trying to convince me that they are the better parent when really all I want is for them to stop fighting and work together for me.

They actually said that their mission was to make Obama a one timer? They were elected to focus and put their energy on getting us out of the mess we are in. Well now that is like saying the American people are idiots and can't decide whether or not Obama stays or goes without their help?

Good analogy. I can't fully agree with the former part of your post, though, because I think one party is for the people (dems), and the other is for corporate personhood (the repubs). It's a sad situation we are in, but, the repubs threw down the guantlet, when saying they will only spend the next two years trying to make Obama a one-termer. They should be looking for jobs, and cutting the budget and tackling the deficit. Scratching the backs of the top 2% of the Americans is not doing their task at hand. I am really sad that it has come down to such partisanship, but that is what the republicans caused to happen. We have to keep from drowning now, so the dems have to take a huge stance left.

Does this surprise anyone? And when they don't produce jobs, and turn the economy around: Who will they blame?

Republicans have NEVER blamed themselves for ANYTHING. Bush was the greatest president the country as ever had. Obama bailed out the banks, it just so happens that Bush was president at the time, but it was Obama that made him do it. Shoe, I see your name change hasn't change your BS lines.

Obama is helping children and college students get a better education. Given your idiotic, grammatically incorrect, posts with blatantly misused words, you would truly benefit from his policies. While on that subject, what policies don't you like of his? Which do you? Which policies would you like to see?
