I expect you have heard of the big chain store Tescos. Well we have Tescos in England. Many many of them. Anyway the latest thing is that they have banned people going there shopping in their pyjamas underneath their coats!
It seems a lot of young mums etc pop in to get a few things such as milk before they have even got dressed in the morning and cover up with a coat!
I dont blame tescos! but I certainly would not go out with pyjamas on under my coat unless it was an absolute emergency definately not to do some shopping. Would you?

It is a big thing here to wear pajama bottoms as everyday pants. Mostly young people do it and it looks ridiculous. No, I would never dream of going out in public in my nightclothes.
I wish we could get back to the standards of 50 years ago--if you left home, you dressed nicely. Flying on a plane was special and everyone dressed up in their best. They dressed up for church, to go to the store--although I remember seeing some woman in curlers at the meat counter and my sister told me she was "trash" to which my mom told my sister to not judge people.

I have noticed people walk into tesco late at night wearing pyjamas under their coat, but not in the morning... but me or my wife would never go out of the house in pyjamas unless its a big emergency... like you said. My wife has noticed a few people take their children to school whilst the parents are still in their pyjamas underneath their coats.. which seems odd to me. She has said there is one particular person that always comes in pyjamas and slippers and has never come in anything else even when its snowing outside.
