How Do You Discipline Your Child?

It is always easier said than done. For those of us who have children, disciplining them tends to be quite a challenge. When we observed other's children being mischevious or do something wrong, it is very easy to comment about disciplining. But what about our own? How do you discipline your children. Do you find some proven method that is effective yet do not create tension between your children and you?

yes, i agree that it is easier said than done. i have four older brothers and my mom told me it's really difficult to discipline a child. she said it is important for the child to understand authority and grow up with conscience and just right guilt.

I think discipline varies with age and the relationship you have with them. I discipline my nephew by insisting and refusing to listen to his rants and whines. It is useless cus his mother is always giving in though. :( Its about teachign them that the world is hard and tough.
