Ok folks, I'm into irony (as some of you well know), so here's another example of irony in the U.S. Here in the good ol' USA, there is something called "urinal etiquette". Some of the rules of "urinal etiquette" are... ~When choosing from unclaimed urinals, never choose one right next to another man. ~Look straight ahead at the wall. Never look to the left or right (even if there is no one next to you). ~Never talk to anyone while standing at the urinal. It's usually not a good idea to talk in the public bathroom at all, but you can be forgiven while washing your hands). Not so ironic.. right? Except for the fact that so many guys who wouldn't dare violate these rules of etiquette insist that they wouldn't have a problem taking a shower with a gay man :~D

Well, your urinal etiquette is sound, common guy sense although I have no problem talking to a fellow urinator if I know them......heck.......sometimes I go up behind them and shake them........again, if I know them........yeah..........that's pretty funny right there. As far as your shower scenario goes, I don't care if they're gay, straight, cross-eyed or whatever.....I don't want to take a shower with ANY man!

LOL, I don't have a problem talking to guys at the urinal either. In fact, (like you) I often do just to laugh about the reactions. ;~D

That is different though. You are not sure the preference of whoever you may being peeing next to. It is just respectful to give others space when they are in this position. I am not even a man, that's just what I think. Not sure how that pieces in with a gay man in a shower. It's just manners.

You're saying that it makes a man nervous to talk to another man while peeing because he doesn't know the preference of the person talking to him.. but somehow it would make it ok if the man knew the guy he's showering with is gay? lol Like I said... irony.

That is more to the psychology of the people who stand in front of the urinal. They probably cannot urine when someone is looking at you. So, of course everyone will obey the urinal etiquette, just to make sure other do not look at you in return when you look at them.
