The true self-belief and how it really occurs

i thought of this discussion thinking about a lot of things including lebron james' decision on moving to miami. i wanna start off by giving my own interpretation of self-belief. for me, self-belief is knowing that you can do something or you are indeed something you believe you are. it's easy to say that we believe ourselves but when it comes to proving it, only a few can. my girlfriend was a volunteer on foster homes and through her i met this precious 14 year old girl named ellein. ellein is a cheerful, passionate and caring girl. she takes care of her younger foster brothers and sisters. she obligues to fetch them food, bathe some of them, and washes their clothes. that's a huge responsibility for a 14 year old girl. the foster home's services isn't limited, don't get me wrong. she's just too active to stay still and play. one afternoon she told as i was taking her for a walk while waiting for my gf, she told me that she had lost hope. she told me that no one is gonna adopt her and that she is going to stay in that orphanage for the rest of her life. of course i disagreed. i wanted to give her hope. i didn't want her to feel down like that. i even wanted to adopt her at that moment if only i was financially stable. but what i said to her was 'if you always believe, it will happen'. she smiled at me and tightened her grip to my left hand. i know i'm not supposed to act like a father but at that time, there was something inside me that wanted to be one, which brings me to this question, do you still believe in yourself even if no one does anymore? another thought that made me write this discussion is about lebron james. a lot of people are saying that he's a big coward. that he can't take care of business alone. kobe is a formidable force, true story, but lebron was praised by michael jordan after seeing one of his games. not enough information for me to say that lebron james is better than kobe bryant. but people are basing this comparison on james' decision on moving to miami. they say that lebron james is no match for kobe cuz he moved to miami to join dwayne wade, chris bosh and the others. in my opinion, lebron is still better than kobe. kobe is just overrated cuz he compared himself to michael jordan way back and now people have eventually looked at it that way. kobe started to hit guarded jumpers and score 60 plus points and people started to say 'hey, michael did that too!' it's just a matter of where you're looking from. lebron's first year he made his first triple double. points aren't the only stats that are important in the game. kobe is an offensive player but james is a tough player at both ends of the court. the list goes on. this is not a comparison of the two though. this is about how one's self-belief can be the whole foundation of the decisions he makes. lebron did not care about the negative words thrown at him. he knows he can do it. ellein knew that there is hope, she just needed acceptance of her belief.

Many people will believe that players not having great shooting stats are really cowards, but the real truth can not be discerned easily. As you may know, some players may be more helpful at rebounding the ball, stealing the ball or giving defense for high point shooters. Lebron James is a hybrid when getting points, as he doesn't have a great shooting record. They'll need to be more practice on his side, because his defense isn't that great either. Lets wait and see if the Miami Heat has the ability to blast away to the Championship winners league again.

Lebron and kobe one on one, i'm betting on lebron. He'll win nine times out of ten.
