I do, and unfortunately I am related to him. He is my maternal grandfather. My hubby calls him a curmudgeon. But Grinch fits too. He is almost always in a sour mood. His nickname for his grand kids and his great grand kids is "little monsters" Honestly, I don't know how my mom put up with it for a dad.

I think that the closest person that I can think of to a real life grinch would have to be my great-grandmother. When she was alive it seemed like she never had a nice thing to say to people. When she had to go into a nursing home because she was no longer able to take care of herself at home, she would often say hateful things to us. The comment that I remember the most vividly that she said to me was, "It doesn't look like you've missed any meals."

Oh no..no kid deserves to be called little monsters especially by someone who is supposed to love them. I wonder if he had been that way all his life or just last so many years?
I seriously hope though he won't be so bad in the future. I hate to say it but I know two..lol..My brother for one..he even told his kids there was no such thing as S-A-N-T-A can you believe that..and his youngest isn't even 5 yet.. And he likes to bust our bubbles sometimes..we can all be in a great awesome mood but he is usually in a bad one..so it rips into our bubbles like a tornado..leaving us sad, mad, and frustrated too. My step dad is another on. He can take the best day and make it turn sour..just by opening his mouth.Putting everyone down and everything.

So sorry to hear your grandfather is so sour on the most wonderful time of the year. I do not know someone as a Grinch although I do know some grumpy ones. Sorry for your mom, as she has experienced this longer. I wish her and all yours a wonderful Christmas.
