What the HECK was that?

So, I'm sitting here, minding my own business, playing Phlinx on pogo and mylotting when I hear a rumbling sort of crash, sounded like maybe my pile just landslid a bit or something was messing around outside.
Now, I can't exactly see WHERE the sound came from, and I did try to look. Then I got up and went and looked outside. But I can't figure what made the sound, the pile looks about the same as it did, but should've shifted a LOT from the sound!
Then, I saw a flash from the side of my eye and looked and there was a bug, laying on its side, its legs all curled up - dead.
Like... what?
did a black hole open in the pile and spit out a bug? where did that darn bug come from?
so, after watching the bug lay there for almost an hour, I decided to take it off the spot it landed and DARN if the little bugger not fly off!!!
What the heck?
so, here I am, wondering what the heck just happened?
any ideas folks?

He just stopped by for a quick nap. Just do not send him here. I do not like bugs. I would think that with all the kitties around there would not be a single living unwanted critter anywhere around. I need to clean up a few piles.

I suspect he got stunned by the heat from the light, but this is a cat free zone, so the cat's aren't allowed in here, in large part because they make messes and the pile is such that I would have to kill someone if they did...
However, they aren't much interested in this small a bug, tho the younger ones will go after flies, if they are bored enough...

Gerty: You don't like bugs? All bugs? Not even ladybugs or butterflies? Or big old friendly bumblebees? What about honeybees? I like playing with pill-bugs--you know, those little gray things that look a bit like Airstream trailers, that roll up into little balls when threatened--do you like them?
When it comes to those that have hot tempers (think fire ants), or stink (such as roaches) or have other nasty habits, I'm with you, but personally I'm charmed by a praying mantis or a Luna moth.
Just my tuppence!

The pile is what happens when you fail to finish a project - 4 years ago, and you personally don't have the energy to do all the work by yourself.
Having said that, I've gone through the pile many times, but only managed to make it a bit more ordered, never getting really finished.
Not in club pogo, but same name. right now I don't have any friends.

A lot of strange things have been happening lately. When I was asleep on Sunday night, my brother (he passed away four years ago) came to me in a dream. I saw everything that was going on in his classes that day that he went into the coma. It was so weird. I could see the classroom, the students, the professor, everything. It was like I was physically there, even though I have never been to a class at my brother's university. He was telling me something. Something about college, and something about me. I am in college right now. I have one more year to go. I out lived my brother by five years and I have gone further in college than he ever has.

Are you sure that you weren't dreaming or something?

What stuff was in the pile? (Besides blackholes and bugs...)
Myself, I'm being inundated with those big black zombie flies that usually show up in late winter on sunny days. Don't know where they're coming from, either, but I've killed at least a dozen already and they still keep coming.
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio...

The pile is what was supposed to be "day 2" of a 2 day project that never got to day 2... I have been working on it, when I started, 4 yrs ago, I only had 3 feet around my desk accessible, now it probably over 5 feet! Still, most of the room is yet to go!
and when its done, I HOPE to have a place to hang more than 2 coats up, since we tend to each have 3 coats going, a cold weather, a colder weather and a chilly day coat...

Spooky.
But then, you know how that is; both of us are always having spooky things happen to us. I with my "slip-overs" & my gluttonous "black hole," among other things, & you with your uncanny knack for nearly always having the closest parking space clear, or both of us being the crowd-drawer when we go someplace that's normally pretty empty (such as a restaurant at very, very off hours, & suddenly it seems everyone in town is hungry at 3 A.M.?)...lots of stuff like that, & even more peculiar, such as that dusty, cold, old piece of popcorn that I heard pop & then saw fly out from behind the fridge...& on & on.
I don't know if all others experience similarly weird events & just rationalize them away, or hide them, or what. I only know I do, & so do you!
But then, weird is fun...

Guess I don't know what a 'skitter is, either. No matter, as it's long gone.
