I am not afraid of jellyfish. I will not swim with them but that is because I have Thalassophobia.

It depends. I live by the ocean here at Panama City Beach Florida. Lots of days you will not even see a jelly fish. Other times the water is swarmed with them. I think if you live in the area you learn respect for marine life as you do for people on the street. There are many types of jelly fish too. Some do not hurt you at all. Others have a nasty sting from their tenecles. This is their protection from invaders in the ocean. Once a year we also have manowar's come on the beach. This is the one I will stay out of the ocean at that time and carefully avoid walking on at the beach. The manowar can really make you sick. Worse than a jelly fish sting. They say keep vinegar with you if you are going to the beach to wash over the sting. However when my son took scuba diving training he was taught to get a bottle of plain meat tenderizer in the spices section of the store and keep in his bag. My son has been stung various times swimming and scuba diving and he said the meat tenderizer works quicker at the sting as various methods he has tried. Don't be afraid of them, just learn to respect all types of life as you would like to be respected. learning about each thing is a wonderful tool of knowledge.

I have not seen a jelly fish in personal but I have seen those in TV. Some say that jelly fish is dangerous but not all. The sting of a jelly fish is very painful and others can be fatal to humans. So, I think we should be very careful when going to an unknown beach. I have seen star fish, turtles, sea horse, cat fish, small shark, and others but I have never seen jelly fish as of yet. I hope I can see at least one hehe.. Have you already seen a jelly fish? Take care and GOD bless!

I've never swam in an area with jelly fishes, but I would be afraid if they are there. One time, a sting ray swam in front of me, and that was really scary!!

I hate them, even if i haven't been stung by it but i know some who felt rreally itchy because they have swam in a beach with a jellyfish. And they say it's really very itchy that they can't take the itch anymore and want's to go to the doctor to ask for the treatment. So i try not to swim in a beach full of jellyfish.

I'm not afraid of them, I just don't want to be stung by one. We live in Hawaii and every few months there are signs on the beaches about jellyfish warnings. I never heard about anybody being stung but I'm sure it happens. Its mainly for the surfers to know about it.

I hate jelly fish. Once I got stung by a jelly fish in some beach, I loose my mood to swim... :D I just stay at the room or at the sea shore...
