The Federal Communications Commission Going Rogue

The FCC leadership is salivating over the power that would be held by whoever emerges as the ones who control and regulate the Internet. The US Congress already voted, telling the FCC they have no such authority. The President has stated that they have no such authority. The US Federal Courts have stated that they have no such authority. But, being bureaucrats who can't stand to see any freedom left to the people, the leaders of the FCC are (pretty much as we speak) voting whether or not they will take control of the internet. Will Congress, the President or the courts allow this? Or will they be their normal COWARDLY selves and just let it happen?

The Australian government wants to regulate the internet as well. It wants every ISP to install a filter to block access to any website which the government don't want us to see.

Dude, that's just scary for a "free" country like Australia. The last thing anyone should want is the kind of regulation they have in Iran and China.

The FCC has voted to usurp this authority for themselves. In direct contradiction to Congress, the President of the US and the Federal Courts. The only way the bureaucratic oafs can be reigned in if for either Congress, the President or the Courts to grow a spine and stand up to them. Let's see if the are willing to.

The FCC needs to take a long walk off a short pier. They do NOT have the power to regulate the internet. And if they decide to do it on their own than congress, and the president need to slap them back into their place. And if our government is too much of a wennie to do it than the public needs to do it.

The public has no say directly. The only influence we have over the FCC (or any other appointees) is the pressure we can put on the Prs. and Congress. If they are too cowardly to correct the FCCs way of thinking, we'll have to correct theirs.. AGAIN.
