Hi Friends, Once the unique identification (UID) project is fully launched, it will also serve as the number to track PF accounts of individuals. Most importantly , this number will not only help in online checking of the status of the account but also to ensure a smooth transfer once a person changes jobs. This is a good news. now we will have to carry only one document for proof of our existence. What do you think about it?

Wow, that is a great news, convenient, and easy to get accessed. So, if erroneous human errors occur, let say, some people access to that important file or document, and delete it intentionally, your existence no longer valid, is that a truth too?

I think there will be some administration required to control such accidents or intentional acts like this. It would be easy to transfer PF money and no need to fill 3-4 pages of form and wait for another 4 months to get it transferred or credited. Thank You for sharing.

Hi AjaySingh, Yes, in book/theory it is a great idea. But I believe it is more about corruption that they would use it for. Before you draw any conclusions, here is why I said those lines - 1. It has been ages that they implemented the Voter I Card and guess what, I havent yet got it from them - though I have spent hours waiting in queues to get myself photographed (5 times they took my pics but I am still waiting for the card). Not that I have not complained, but each time they have asked me to be present the next time they are doing the data collection.... 2. I have a Valid Passport but my bankers say it is not acceptable to them as a proof of my being Indian... A bill from the telephone (BSNL) however proves that I am an Indian...I am unsure now how do I put this up here and also with the bankers

All your points are valid, everything we do is getting affected by corruption and UID is not something different. By the time work on it is over, there will be scams coming out but we can notjust sit and hope for the best, need to co-operate in the implementation of it, as a user I can just hope for the best to happen . about point 2, I do not believe this, you can cliam that and if possible file a case against bank, if you do not consider Passport as an identity for being Indian stop UID project for sure. I am not sure which bank is this, I recently submitted KYC form and attached Passport Xerox as address proof and they accepted it with pleasure. Thank You for sharing.

unique identification (UID) is good project and is better to help tracking a account easily and also make user data better to keep and design database easily.
