Rep Steve Scalise is looking to shed some light on Obama's czars. The bill he is proposing would cut off any funding for czars and their offices. The President could then reinstate them with Senate approval. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/01/07/house-republicans-push-shut-white-house-czars/ Here is a look at Obama's czars AIDS Czar: Jeffrey Crowley Auto Recovery Czar: Ed Montgomery Border Czar: Alan Bersin California Water Czar: David J. Good. The appointment of all these stupid czars without senate approval is in direct violation of the constitution. It's about time someone do something about it. Oh, but don't worry. You can expect a bunch of "Bush did it too!" responses shortly.

Last time I posted about this, I got plenty about Bush. My only response there - is this the hope and change?

All the czars should have gone through fetting/Senate approval processes. This is kind of like closing the barn door after the cows have gotten out. Yes, funding for the czars and offices should be cut off. And part of the fetting process should be, "do we actually need the czar/office"? What are the existing Departments doing? Since creation, what has the czar/office accomplished? If it can't be ascertained, then the whole czar/office should be dismantled (along with any regulations, etc.) it's created. And the whole concept of czars for this and future Presidents needs to be addressed...I'm not convinced any President, this one or future Presidents, need special czars/advisors/whatever new term they'll come up with, are needed. Why aren't the existing Departments handling these "special" problems, initiatives, etc.? Cutting these czars/offices will save millions...if not billions.

I agree, it has gotten out of hand and is just another way to drain tax money/
