The Snow Bridge

This is Captain Lightening of the USS Eldorath reporting from my recent mission into sub arctic temperatures and conditions outside my ship. I simply went for my daily rounds on the ship when I noticed that the landing door was ajar. No doubt one of my engineering crew forgot to see to their duties, so I decided to investigate.
I found two of my senior officers outside of the USS Eldorath taking a smoke break. I quickly chided them for being so relaxed, but as this was technically their day off, I simply gave a quick purr and went about my business.
I noticed that some creature, perhaps around four feet had carved out an ice bridge from our recent blizzard on this planet we are currently observing. I have to say it was something to see twenty inches of snow as that is my own height, when on all four paws.
I advanced into the cave under the snow bridge with caution. Sniffing about I sensed no immediate danger. I called to my Second in Command and he advanced to the other side of the cave. Clearly this was simply a practical joke to get me out of the ship and into the cold without the proper attire. I retreated quickly, and spent the rest of the day lounging in my quarters listening to Cat's Steven, and sipping a cool glass of water.

This is Communications Officer Taj on the USS Lion's Den. Sorry to hear you had this unprecedented lapse in ship discipline! I'm also sorry to hear of your unpleasant assignment, while we are observing a planet with varied temperatures, currently pretty cold, but was very pleasant a few days ago. The worst is the current damp - while most of us can stay aboard the ship, the "Way party" does still have to reconnoiter at regular intervals.
So, enjoy your Cat's Steven and remember, at least you don't have to do regular forays into the cold.

Officer Taj, Captain Lightening here. The little ones have been tormenting me, but I have prevailed. I have spent the afternoon resting on top of the warming stove in the observation deck. I sent my two senior officers out to shovel snow for most of the morning which gave me some reprieve from the little ones. As we speak they are now sleeping soundly which means at least eight hours of complete silence. Silence is golden. Captain out.

Officer Taj, I'm hoping I will be able to infiltrate and regain control of my favored sleeping quarters in the comfort of the warm blankets. Just last night when I was attempting to sleep thus situated Number 2 unceremoniously ousted me. If this happens again I may have to sleep on her face to show her who's in charge. Until then I shall be satisfied with causing her great consternation and strife by my choice of traversing between her legs as she perambulates the living quarters. Captain out.

hi anora I like your style. My husband used to tease me about gettinmg
a baby alligator to the point where I was afraid he really meant it as
we had a sort of pool in the back yard.So it was my birthday and he said well I really did, come look at your baby alligator and I was ready to r eally explode but he handed me this large prettily wrapped gift and I
opened it and lo and behold it was a stuffed toy but really realistic to the colors and shape and all so yes I did have a babby Alligator to go with tthe stuffed toy Koala bear. I have had those two for years but I am missing my alligator so it must be in storage. lol. Oh I love Cat Stevens music. wow.by the way my son and I are trekkies too.

Aww, what a sweet story! Maybe someone will be kind enough to fetch your alligator out of storage. 
I am also never sure just what my husband will do to surprise me. He chided me all Christmas season about wanting the last book in the Twilight series but then that is exactly what I got!

Oh I can think of a few practical jokes that were played on me, for example the time a co-worker taped down the thing you put the phone receiver down on to hang it up, so that when I picked the phone up it didn't pick up...
Brrr.... I'd stay inside too, but I'm a wus when it comes to weather.

My husband always plays jokes on me, although not as elaborate as this one. My sons are now getting in on the act! Oh well, I guess it keeps me on my toes, and makes life more interesting, or something!
